I wish I could give it less than zero. As soon as my sister and I walked in the staff was rude. The man standing behind the main bar told us there were no tables at the main area but we could sit at the area to the left of the main bar. We got sat over in that area and got our menus and water. We heard our waitress talk with other tables and she sounded pleasant, until she got to our table. We were nice (as we've been our entire 2 week trip in Ireland) but she was quite short. The food came out (food was delicious) and we ate. She came to all the tables around us and chatted with them but skipped over ours every time. She even stopped to talk about Trumps visit with the table immediately behind us (we are Americans) and talked trash about him (tbh I'm not a huge fan of him but he's the president of my country). We got our check and asked where we could get a t-shirt (we had gone because of my sisters friend saying it was a cool spot and she wanted a shirt) and she waved at the front and said "shirts are at the main bar" and I asked "the bar at the front with the man who told us to sit over here?" And she said yes. We go to the main bar and stood behind a few people getting drinks and once they got their drink, the old jerk told us that in fact the place to buy tshirts was the window on the other side of the wall. As we walked in that direction, he says to another man "what am I? A shop keeper?" And they both laughed. We go to the next window and the first kind person at this God forsaken place helped us get a shirt. But wait! There's more! We gave this kind soul the tax redemption card to swipe and the poor kid didn't know how to use it and guess who had to come help him? The old jerk. So he ended up selling us that shirt anyways. We would have stayed to order more but the service was so bad we decided to go back to the hotel bar. All in all, if you're American, they might not be glad you're there. This has been the first place we've gotten rude employees in our...

Came in late for dinner, on a late evening trip from the Cliffs of Moher to Dublin. Friendly staff, prompt without feeling rushed. Big menu. delicious food, we had lasagna, steak, salmon and fish. All delicious, generous portions, and 2 types of potatoes as sides for the table. We had the special, which gives you appetizer, main course, dessert, then adds in a half carafe of wine per 2 people (and the carafe is generously filled, too, with a decent house wine). We had 2 specials and 2 al a carte. The appetizer of clams fed everyone, and the Irish bread that came to the table in addition to the garlic bread with the muscles was plenty. Desserts were delicious, excellent coffee. Sharing the appetizer and desserts we paid €110. They charge cost + 10%. I added another €5 for the waitress for excellent service.

The decor is great. Low ceilings with rustic look. Just charming with an upper and lower restaurant. (Upper one was closed when we got there.) Full of country arts and artifacts, full bar, of course. The place was filled with locals all having a good time in groups of 2 to 6. I think we were the only US citizens there.

There are badges racked up on the walls from Police and Fire departments from all over the world. Glad to see them supporting law enforcement!

We had a wonderful time. We would definitely go back. Just off the expressway, just north of the M7, in the south side of Bunratty. Google will...

Upon arrival, we witnessed a very disgruntled barman being extremely rude to a couple trying to pay their bill but didn’t know what number table they sat at. As he walked past me I could hear him mumble a few expletives that were not called for at all! The sign for where the restaurant begins is around a corner and a good bit away from the entrance, causing a bit of confusion at the main door. The menu is very basic for what you would expect from a place with such a good reputation, I was extremely disappointed in it. The food itself was very underwhelming and for the prices, should be far better! The Cajun chicken burger had no flavour to it whatsoever and the chips were soggy and tasteless. The “salad” was so basic and didn’t even have a bit of dressing on it. While we were there we observed good hygiene practice with all the tables being sprayed and wiped and some of the nearby customers even getting a good spraying! Good practice is to spray onto the cloth, especially if people are close. I for one will not be returning to Durty Nellys and will not be recommending it to...

To start the review, I must point out that we ate in the Oyster Restaurant section. This was my second time here, and I'm happy I was able to return. Such a quaint pub, in a good location, right next to a castle. It gives one the feeling of living back in those days and meeting up with friends at the end of a long day of farming or something. The food is actually quite good. I got seafood chowder to start, and it was delicious! They also serve really good bread. For my main, I got the Pesto Baked Chicken with Gruyere, and I enjoyed that. Someone else got the sea bass, and while they enjoyed it, I think the was something different about the bone structure (?). Unfortunately, we were all too full to get dessert. Perhaps the next time I return to Ireland!

You get a wierd greeting are ye here for food or drink. We were both so that kind of phased the dude. Anyway everyone who worked there seemed jaded dealing with tourists and we're gruff and short with us. I order a toasted chease sandwich and a salad and a cup of tea. The sandwich was nice, salad wad olded then the Buntatty castle next door. It was of the bag variety and inedible with a thin helping of some form of salad dressing. The decor and antiques were a nice touch. I'd recommend the owner needs to change out the staff and have a chief redo the menue. The experience totally let's down the beauty of the historic castle and is not in keeping with international standards.

We were traveling during late October, to attend a special event at Bunratty Castle. We saw this restaurant and decided to stop in. We ate at a cozy table inside The Oyster Restaurant - apparently they have a few different places people can dine here. We weren't really hungry, so chose the Atlantic Seafood Chowder and some mussels. The food was wonderful, chowder was piping hot, like it should be. Waitstaff was friendly, wanted to talk a bit about where we were from. It was a a really fun time. I'd love to go back again for dinner sometime. The menu is extensive and many unique dishes are offered.
