I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Galway Cakery. I was planning to order a cake for my parents' 25th anniversary, and I reached out to the owner to inquire about the payment method and confirm my order. However, instead of receiving a prompt and professional response, I was met with rudeness and unprofessionalism.
After not hearing back from the owner, I followed up to ensure my order was being processed. To my dismay, the owner informed me that they could not fulfill my request less than a week before the event. This would have been understandable if it had been communicated to me earlier, but I was left scrambling to find an alternative at the last minute.
When I called to discuss the situation further, the owner was dismissive and refused to engage in a constructive conversation. Their response was both condescending and unhelpful, leaving me feeling frustrated and disrespected as a customer.
What's even more frustrating is that the owner never would have mentioned the inability to fulfill my order if I hadn't asked. It's unacceptable to wait until the last minute to inform a customer, especially for such an important occasion. When asked why are you informing so late, his reply was, ''listen mister, now you know, now go find another place to get a cake''. I asked to speak to a manager or the shop owner and was again rudely responded back to by being told he was the shop owner and manager, and he decides what and who he will serve as it is his shop.
Overall, my experience with Galway Cakery was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone looking for reliable and respectful service.

Read moreWhen my children were small, I frequently spent my hard earned cash at the Galway Cakery. Trying hard to loose a few Pounds, I avoided these type of establishments for a few years. About a month ago, I called into the Galway Cakery and was met by its owner Ali and was told that I would have 30 minutes to eat my meal. I said, no problem and was shown to a table. I do realise that Covid has made things difficult for many businesses. However, I counted around ten other people to come in after me and not one of them was told about the 30 minute time limit. It was blatantly clear that Ali had singled me out! Today, more out of interest to see what kind of reception I would get, I went to the Galway Cakery with my wife. This was around midday. We were asked by Ali if we had a reservation. There was no signs up or notices up on the outside to say that a reservation was required and I have never heard of a reservation being required for a coffee shop, especially in the middle of the day! We quietly walked away. About ten minutes later, I decided to return to Ali to discuss with him my unfair treatment a month before. I was told by Ali, in no uncertain terms, to go away and to stop wasting his time! My message to Ali is, that Covid will pass but his bad attitude will not and thank God that we have two really good coffee machines ourselves! We really don't need that rudeness! Read moreVisited this place today with a friend. We waited few minutes and then we sat down, waited again few minutes and decided to go up and take menu ourselves.
Then we went up to order and we were told they will come to us to take an order, even though someone who arrived after us went up to the till and ordered, also got food before us.
My friend had a cajun chicken ciabatta, while placing order she was asked does she wants ciabatta or wrap, ordered ciabatta and still got wrap 🤷🏼♀️.
I had ham and cheese toasted sandwich which in my opinion had barely any filling for €10. (Now this is one half as Im holding the other half).
We waited good 40mins to get food, which was luke warm when we got it. We ordered desert as well but we had to have it to go as we waited so long for food and we had to get back to work. Desert was okay. Caffe is very cold, but waitress was nice.
Overall, we would not come here again after...
