I am delighted that this gorgeous area of Ireland has not only has a cafe, but also one of note. This is the only real deal for miles in every direction: so worthwhile if you are traveling through or just unaware of this local treasure. The Cafe, located on the campus of the Sligo Folk Park in Riverstown, has a dedicated owner/barista who brews only with high quality organic beans. Stewart is finicky and precise about his brew times and temperatures. It is currently a one man show, as he only opened a couple of months ago, so I would recommend calling for times. He is closed weekends until the summer tourist season. You can have a bargain of a lunch, while reading from the library and enjoying the bright dining room. And of course this is in the middle of the quirky and somewhat surreal Folk Park- so say hi to the chickens and goose that have a run of...

Popped in to The Cafe in Riverstown which opened quite recently and had the most delicious breakfast I've had for a while now. Brilliant service from both the lady who took our order and Stewart in the kitchen. Lovely comfortable open space that even has a little library in the corner. I will definitely be back. Arrived a couple of weekends ago but the cafe was full of a cycling club who were extremely loud and a little inconsiderate towards my elderly mother, staff were apologetic but visit was spoilt... Cake was a little dry and a little expensive, coffee was nice. Will revisit one day, hopefully on a...
