Our party of five strolled into a pretty quiet dining room (though the bar had a few folks enjoying themselves). We were promptly greeted and shown to our table by a friendly duo of ladies, seemingly orchestrated by a gent behind the bar. Thumbs up for the speedy water delivery! We kicked things off with a couple of crawfish bowl appetizers, and our drinks arrived without a hitch. So far, so good! Then came the main event... or rather, the wait for the main event. We clocked a good 45 minutes before our lamb, haddock, chicken parm, and fish and shrimp scampi finally graced our table. What made the wait a bit puzzling was watching other tables, who arrived well after us, get their food and even finish up! At first, I thought maybe they had some sort of secret pre-order superpower, but seeing it happen multiple times raised an eyebrow or two. When we politely inquired about the hold-up, the answer was a simple, "We're quite busy." Hmm. Finally, the dishes arrived, and while they weren't bad, they definitely landed in the "perfectly average" category. Now that I'm back home and looking at the menu, I realized my scampi was supposed to come with fries, which were noticeably absent. While the initial service was pleasant, the lengthy delay and the feeling of being overlooked left a bit of a sour taste. Given that this was Easter weekend and perhaps things were unusually hectic, I'm hoping this wasn't the standard experience. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that maybe visitors from across the pond weren't...

We arrived here mid afternoon and thankfully managed to get a seat.

Our drinks were served within minutes and went down a treat. A few similar drinks later and I needed to use the toilets. On a positive note, if there is ever a need to find a bomb shelter then the men's toilets are the place to go based on the width of the wall with the windows 😉 (see photo). The taps only released water for about 2 seconds at a time and there was no hot water. Only one of the two hand dryers was working but as it wasn't busy this wasn't a problem.

Throughout our visit, the lounge staff were always close by and we never had to wait long for service, even when it got busier later in the day. The average customer age was middle-age and that suited...

Called in on bank holiday Monday for the first time to visit Finnegan's and was probably the nicest cleanest friendliest bar we ever entered, although we didn't have lunch as we had a late breakfast at our hotel every dish looked absolutely amazing that we seen coming out of the Kitchen, It was a day we would love to have tried their famous lobster but unfortunately it wasn't on that day . The owners and staff couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming , Next time we go back we are going there hungry. We would highly recommend visiting Finnegan's even if you have to go out if your way . Thanks for the hospitality and the...

From the moment we went in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and kindness remembering our last visit .My friend is in a wheelchair and has been a customer over the years and has not been back in a number of months but was remembered with great fondness. We were given a seat in a snug area straight away and served to perfection. It is a beautiful place to visit ,food Excellent ,service excellent ,hospitality exceptional.

Finnegan's is just class. For a pub in Dalkey it has decent prices, great service and lovely meals. It is a cosy place to have a pint and a chat with the locals, or you can sit outside and enjoy the weather, the flowers and the environs. Food is generous but not over the top, it is also tasty and quick. Check the specials of the day and remember it is only a lunch time feeder, not evening meals.
