It is with regret that I am posting this review, I visited the druids chair on a Wednesday evening without booking a table as the previous week and was told that no booking was necessary. On being seated at possibly the worst table available I acceped their decision. After my first pint I enquired as to the availability of the numerous empty tables available as my wife had strained her back in work that day and we would have preferred a more comfortable seat only to be told that they were unavailable. We had a few more drinks and some food and left a near empty pub. The food was ok and the pints were lovely but the service was poor. Had I been asked I would have told them to their face how I felt but they could not even manage that so now I am sharing my experience with everyone. Apparently it is very hit and miss depending who is on duty but maybe proper training would add to a better...

Very unusual monument. The Ordnance Survey maps describe it as a cromlech. The monument probably marked the site of a dolmen surrounded by a stone circle. It has close associations with the druids in this area. The construction of the chair itself may have been a Victorian folly. There are conflicting stories about its origin.

The area around it has become a bit overgrown with bushes and briars. During 1972 an effort was made by the local history group of the Ballybrack Guild of the ICA to clean up around the monument and have it officially recognised.

There is a small path leading to the chair, it is in a slightly overgrown area. Visiting would take no longer than 10 minutes so it is a quick detour. Definitely an interesting bit of history...

Very cosy friendly pub with a good quality food menu, a bit limited but what they do, they do really well and the ambiance and cosieness make up on top of that. The food is of a very high standard with particular attention to presentation, selection and quality. On a recent visit I had baked cod and chips with salad of rocket, tomato, onion, cucumber, peppers, lemon, tartar sauce and deep fried scampi thrown in for good measure. I've had this meal several times, fantastic value best in the general area at €16.50 as shown. The bar manager and staff particularly attentive and helpful and efficient. Frequently quiet and relaxing, expect it to be maybe busy Friday afternoon / evening with customers coming...

Fantastic local feeling! Four of us were over from New York and Florida looking for someplace to eat on a Sunday night. My uncle looked up some restaurants and said this one looked good- we weren’t disappointed! Super friendly staff! The food was delicious! Mark at Druid’s Chair was very friendly, a great sense of humor. He chatted with us for quite a while and gave us so much information about getting into Dublin and what to see and how to get around. We felt very welcome and had a wonderful evening!
