Mom and I made a trip to Ireland from the States. We walked around the lake, the weather was rainy and cold. We hungrily stopped here. Read moreWe were driving along the Kerry way from Avoca to Killarney and could well have missed this little gem of a place. Pulled in for the view and then saw the sign for Dinesh Cottage. It is a 1.6km walk from the car to the Island, bikes could also travel this route. Well worth the time and the walk. You are walking along through trees and by the lake, very picturesque, with a lovely quiet energy. Getting to the cottage by the lake was well worth it. You can walk further but we went for a cuppa and a snack. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that this little cottage cafe had gluten and dairy free snack options as well as a variety of dairy free milks and good coffee. Totally recommend this little cottage stop and the walk...
