The Golden Nugget Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Killarney Municipal District

If it would be possible I would give zero stars. We passed the Golden Nugget often when we were in Killarney. Now we stopped and walked in. In the first mometn everything was fine. There was a great smell of good food. But thecomes the sadness. The table was sticky, also the menue. I thouhht never mind, should be ok. We ordered our drinks. The coke and the 7up were without enough gas. The beer was ok. Then we ordered the fodd which comes really quick. With hte food comes the disapointment. Greasy chips, dry burger, very dry salmon. Food was decent but small portions, two people i was with got their food and they got my order wrong, fair mistakes do happen. But was not told anything for almost half an hour and got a half hearted sorry from a girl who didn’t even make the mistake infairness once my food finally arrived. Just common courtesy to let people know what is going on i’ve worked in many restaurants and it’s basic manners and common sense. I finally got my food at 8:50 and I didn’t even know if it was gonna come because 1 they close the kitchen at 9 and 2 nobody bothered to tell me. Spent some time here each evening on a 4 day camping trip and the only regret I have is leaving it untill the last night to have food. We cooked the other nights and wanted to round off a great holiday. The Burger is worth travelling for, by far the best I’ve had in Killarney. Vol a vent impressed the wife who is in the hospitality industry and the chicken Goujons were amazing. Good honest food done with pride. Top that off with some very reasonable pricing , cold beer, great service from all the staff and Suzy made us feel welcome every time we came in.
