Visited this place on last Sunday afternoon. It was one of the only places in Ballybunion which was ready to serve us lunch at 12:30 pm. Have heard of sleepy towns, but wasn't expecting such a touristy place to be asleep until late mornings. We were looking forward to have some good seafood, and our high hopes dipped a bit since the Bunker bar offered only fish and chps,. But boy they id not disappoint us! It was one of the best fish and chips I've had around the country, and probably the first to serve some salad with it (a welcome addition, I must say). The staff is really lovely and accommodating. The only downside would be the restrooms. While they are not bad, they could do with some tube lights in there. Overall, a great place to have lunch after a morning at the beach.

Likes previous reviewer the scampi was pure mush. No resemblance to whole tail prawn. Told that “that’s how they buy it in” what? Changed for the fresh cod. Dripping in grease and strange brown hue. Completely tasteless. 2 pints of Guinness and 1 scampi and 1 cod for €50. Rip off Ireland. Looked so promising until I cut in to “prawn”

Whole tail scampi??? Thats a tip of a tail at best, misguiding customer's with that title, if your gonna sell bought in breaded prawns and charge 19 euros at least state it in the menu. Scammed by scampi Service was good, beer was nice and cold but that scampi was a joke.

we regular stay at ballybunnion & visited brunkers on the Sunday 8th augest 2021 . The semi final between cork & Kilkenny was on. Went up to the door & told girl we would like a table for 5 please & we’re you showing the match on tv. To be told so abruptly NO!

I work in hospitality myself & if I had a table of 5 come on & I knew I would make at least 60e off them I certainly would try & accommodate them .. it’s a semi final for gods sake ! We ended up going to the Hibernian to which they did turn on the match & got 84euro from us! It will be very interesting to see will you show the all Ireland final next week !! Cork v Limerick .. Just overall very disappointed.. as food is absolutely...

Our last night of holidays in ballybunion so wanted to dine out with the kids. We choose the bunker bar as we had not been in there before and it always seemed busy. It was very busy that evening but we were quickly attended to and given seats to suit with the kids. We didn't have to wait long for an order to be taken or for the food to come even though it was packed inside. Waitress was fabulous and very kind to the kids. The owner was just as friendly and made sure all was OK before we we left. Will definitely come back here again.
