Ladies & Gents Ok my 1st visit to this absolute gem of Paradise and cuisine Fri 6th
This absolute Gem was highly Recommended via a very well Irish CuisineExpert who was in SSE via my land lady â-
Ok perhaps Iâm been biased but KQ has to be my most favourite coastal setting having spent many years in my adopted Wexford. This is clearly a family run place. Conor Chloe and Lesley deserve such great credit in inspiring and instilling such crucial essential traits from amounst its young Team.
Also lovely sign outlining how staff Team are rewarded re gratitutes on each day
Beautiful entrance with 2 separate restaurant areas. Mine was set off with simple but with elegant beautiful stone faced walls and decor with high ceilings with ample natural light â- think of a Greek or Moroccan setting.
This gem clearly is a favourite for both young old and in between amounst the locals tourists and of the boating sailing fraternity
Met Ivan Sutton Artist extraordinaire same date in KQ â- who you may ask â- yes I said the same â- but woh! what an absolute kind humble gentleman.
This gem has clearly built itself with strong aims/goals to achieve speciality towards our youngest as baby seats were in view and this gem was very much dog friendly as water trays were discreetly visible
There is a large outdoor smoking seated area
Val Hannah & younger Team were so attentive and engaging â- so nice to see younger chefs engaging with myself
PS I know knowing about cuisine delights and alas non drinker but as Val rightly said â you know what great food tastes likeâ
Mine was a scrumptious monk fish delight Donât ask me to describe sauces or exact ingredients đ€Ł It was Absolutely delicious đ
2 Toilets whilst unisex were/are equally an absolute gem of complete privacy comfort and with sublime gold decor â- yes Gold set off with equally sublime wall to wall tiling and located well off seated area/s
Black pepper with Amber â- woh !what a refreshing combination of charisma ambiance
You could literally eat off the floor
Beautiful combination of Spanish background music throughout my stay â
Wheelchair friendly â- all seating in one ground floor level
I Most Definitely look forward for visit no 2 & hope to return before Sept
Such a most beautiful welcome
In busy peak times Free all day parking in car park less than 3 to 5 mins walk max
Sincere congratulations to Conor Chloe
Lesley Val and Hannah and Team

I have to mention the delicious cakes/buns and the to-die-for sourdough and brown breads, especially first thing in the morning, fresh from their own dedicated bakery. Try âem you wonât be disappointed.
Be sure to reserve a table for Dinner, The Grounds is deservedly popular and going to become âa destinationâ in its own right.
Iâve enjoyed dinner in The Grounds several times and each time savoured the fantastic tastes and subtle flavours. The kitchen turns out wonderful foods âŠ.. try the âSpecialâ for dinner, tell âem I recommended it âŠ. Youâll be thrilled with your choice.
The Grounds is a place youâll keep returning to âŠâŠâŠthe cooking, the ambiance, the quality ingredients and the pleasant and attentive staff are all first class.
One small gripe, the room temperature can fluctuate, and the management are attentive to this.
The wine list is short, with a range of prices, the ones Iâve sampled were very appealing, but Iâm no wine expert. They have no beers or...

We visited The Grounds while on holiday in Kilmore Quay, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the interior wowed us â beautifully designed with a cool, vibey atmosphere and gorgeous dried flowers hanging from the ceiling. It felt special yet relaxed.
The food was outstanding. I started with the scallops and pork belly â both were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. For my main, I had the special, which was beautifully cooked brill, paired with Dauphinoise potatoes (which they happily swapped in for the chips listed on the menu â no problem at all). Every dish was packed with flavour and perfectly presented.
We also enjoyed a divine bottle of French organic rosé, which paired perfectly with the meal.
Service was friendly, professional, and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and experience.
I would 100% recommend The Grounds to anyone visiting Kilmore Quay â a truly memorable meal in a beautiful setting.
Also dog friendly which is...
