I've never been here before but have driven past it a few times. On the way to Cork via the ferry past Duncannon. One large bar and a bar/restaurant, from what I saw. The larger bar was rammed with what I assumed were locals enjoying a Good Friday night out before heading into Wexford. It was certainly quieter by the time we'd left. They had stopped serving food by the time we'd arrived, so we sat in the smaller room. Beer was good, and service good and friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our drinks and a chat. A group of lads kn the next table were having boisterous fun but left by the time we'd finished our first drink. Although food had stopped, we saw one person collect a takeaway dinner. Another couple came in wanting food and the bar woman gave them helpful advice of where to go in the town/village for that since their kitchen was closed. The couple returned later for drinks. I'd come back again when I was less tired after a long journey. Wellington Bridge is a village with a surprising amount of infrastructure given its size and with the Bannow nearby and its bay, I imagine it'd be a great place to explore or foot or bike.

During COVID: Place looks nice, lovely on the inside too, but they sit us in a table in the playing room, they shouldn’t even offer this place specially not to couples. Bright white light that makes the room not nice or welcoming to stay for longer after finishing the meal. The table was crooked and had to fix it ourselves, even though we told the waitress. Personnel was busy due to overcrowding in the times we’re living. The food was good, crispy duck was nice and the veg stir fry lovely, even though a little bit too spicy and wasn’t informed of that, on the menu or by the staff. Overall experience not so good.

My duck salad was so tasty!! I had a taste of the chicken curry too & it was good!! The staff were lovely. They have a great selection of alcohol ( especially gin). The decor is nice & bright. This is a place I would recommend.

We had two excellent meals in Tir na nÓg during a week's stay in the area. How I wish we had a chef serving this calibre of food in our town.

The first meal was for three people at lunchtime. At that meal, two of us chose the chicken breast filled with stuffing enhanced by black pudding. An unusual but delicious combination. The accompaniments were mash and perfectly cooked veg. The meat was deliciously juicy, probably the best chicken breast I've ever had. Our companion had a very good steak sandwich which came with chips and salad. Again this was a tender and tasty piece of meat cooked to perfection. The meal for three, including teas and coffee was €58.00.

Our second meal, this time for two in the evening, was outstanding. I had Featherblade beef which had obviously been slow cooked. It was melt in the mouth and gorgeously flavoursome. The mash and veg finished the dish nicely. My companion had a super homemade burger. The meat was succulent and was garnished with caramelised onions, cheese and topped with smoky bacon. It beat any Dublin burger hands down. It came with veg by request. Including tea, coffee and two pints, the bill was less than €50! A gourmet bargain in our estimation.

All this and really nice, pleasant and helpful staff. What more...

We have gone to this restaurant?? Over the years when on holidays last year we had a good meal not special but good , This year a week ago we called in the evening about 6 30 ,ordered our dinner I went for fish and my wife who is a vegetarian ordered a stir fry . It took about 20 minutes to arrive which was a lot considering there was other people eating but no orders waiting .my fish was incinerated and vegetables were over cooked ,my wife's stir was sloppy looking and looked more like a soup ,the vegetables overcooked the carrots were rounds soft and obviously from the previous night . The server when she saw what was left on plates did not ask had we enjoyed .if on my own I would have asked for the chef or deep fat fryer operator and refused to pay but my wife does not like me to complain. I paid with extreme bad taste . This was the worst meal I have ever had and let my feelings know to all the locals I have come to know and like over the...
