The Horse & Plough With Thai, Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Braddan

I have been going to horse and plough for many years. The last 6 months i have been at least once a month and each time the food has been consistently good and always cooked to a high standard. However, we went last night and as soon as our food arrived it looked different. My son who is a chef, has always said that the Sea bass is the best he's tasted and Ive always loved the Tandoori chicken-last night it was not as tasty as it normally is. My son said I bet there a new chef-and when I asked I was told, yes there was a new head chef. It's sad that the food is now not the same and my son suggested that a new chef should do their own menu as food cannot be cooked the same as the last chef did. The meal wasn't bad but I couldn't eat much of mine-although my son ate all his. My grandson had thin chips that had no taste at all and he didn't eat them. I did say when paying that the food wasn't the same as usual-but no comment was made. We will try once more in a few weeks and if the standard remains as it was last night, we unfortunately, will not be...

Not the first time we've had terrible service here. Booked a table for lunchtime, after 20 mins we were asked to move tables as we'd been seated at the wrong one. My elderly grandparents were unable to get up easily to move. An hour passed and there was still no sign of our lunch (bearing in mind we hadn't exactly ordered exquisite meals!). Just over an hour later I told the waitress to cancel my lunch as I'd been an hour and needed to get back to work. My meal came out as we were talking so I went to sit down to eat it to find it was the wrong order! I noted that others around us waited over 45 mins for their meals, and sometimes upto 10 minutes between the same tables order being brought out, totally unacceptable for a bog standard pub. We came to the Horse and Plough this evening, we were shown to out table the restaurant was clean and table was comfortable. We were ask We if we wanted drinks and given menus. We order Mackerel salad and fish cake for starters both meals arrived very hot and were presented, we enjoyed them. We had southern fried chicken burger with fries and salad and trackside burger with bacon and chips both meals were hot and were well presented, unfortunately the trackside burger wasn't cooked enough (both burgers as this was a double burger) we mentioned this to the waitress when paying so she kindly apologised and we were refunded for this meal, Th is was very good of her she was friendly.
