Ok, nice interior and obviously popular, there were two book clubs in with us. The two young ladies who served us were lovely and attentive. BUT...We ordered half chicken meals. We've had the same in Douglas at the Barbary Coast where the chicken was tasty and succulent, cooked to perfection. Sadly at the Highlander the chicken was, and being blunt here, well overcooked, stringy and very dry. Sad really because it is so easy to get right. I was in the area last weekend with my son. Who said he was hungry. Saturday pub lunch? Easy. I had the bangers and mash, he had a chicken wrap, chips x2 coke x2... £48! Wayyyy over priced for what it is. Were my sausages made out of gold? Was my sons chicken flown over from Singapore? Did our 2 Coca-Colas have actual coke in it? Get a grip its a pub lunch not a 5stsr restaurant. No wonder...

Madri lager was the only none bitter option available on my visit which was upsetting as there is Beavertown Neck Oil on if youāre lucky. Thereās a host of Okellās on offer if thatās youāre bag.
I was promptly ejected from the establishment at 11pm sharp....
