This was our 1st time holiday on the island staying in Colby, It was my birthday and I wanted an Indian meal, we saw this restaurant 2 days before in passing and the reviews were good so we travelled back to try it, From the very moment we arrived we were welcomed and when ordering he asked how we liked our food, medium , hot or any other, and couldn’t do enough for us, the food was absolutely delicious and full of flavour, served quickly and piping hot, this gentleman takes great pride in his restaurant and goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy and enjoying it, we live in England and have Indian food regularly but this restaurant surpasses all of our restaurants, well done Sir you have a fantastic restaurant and long may you continue 5 stars from us ***** Chris and Val from Peterborough England

We absolutely LOVE Royal India in Peel!! The service is always so welcoming and everything is always bang on, I don’t think they’ve ever once got our order wrong. I’m vegan, all of the curries can be made vegan which always such a lovely and pleasant surprise! I would recommend the Itsthu (sp?) with the mushroom pilau rice, onion bhaji and popadoms… so delicious!! My friend is not vegan and she loved it too! Proper cloth napkins and table cloths, and you can either BYOB, or there are soft and alcoholic drinks available to buy… so win win! Go! You’ll love it x

Live near Peel and love curry but their Madras is SO odd. It is creamy and not spicy. Top pic. Madras is onion/tomato-based sauce with lemon and chilli. Like the other photo. No idea what you gave me when I ordered Madras. Lovely looking place but the Madras is very odd.

We discovered here last year when we stayed a Knockaloe beg farm as it was the closest Indian restaurant. I’d like to say the staff are lovely! Back in March there was a mistake with one of my dishes, the apologized, rectified and drove out to deliver it to us which was appreciated so no complaint with the service whatsoever.

The food! This time they double checked both times they were vegan which is great. HOWEVER! The saag aloo and Chana masala were oddly sweet spicy and bland at the same time by which I mean there was a lot of spice (I like spice!) but no flavours outside of that other than an unidentifiable sweetness! I am aware potatoes, spinach and chickpeas aren’t especially sexy and can be difficult to flavour. We eat from Indian restaurants at least once a week and these are my staples at Indian restaurants; whilst I am most certainly not calling myself an expert I have had these dishes taste of something other than spinach, potatoes, chickpeas and spice. The flavours were balanced unlike here.

My husband didn’t enjoy the chicken chettinadu as he said it was again bland but spicy (he likes spice also.)

The mushroom rice was delicious! Huge thumbs up for the mushroom rice! Recommend that! Poppadoms crispy and not greasy, loved the poppadoms! Pickled onions fresh and tangy, enjoyed them thoroughly! Son loved the mango chutney. Hub and son loved the garlic Naan with no butter. Hub said it was one of the fluffiest he’d had so a big plus for the Naan.

It was about 20-25 mins for the food BUT! there were other people waiting and whilst I personally didn’t enjoy the food it is lovely to see a business so busy.

I think I’ll give it a miss for a little while next time we’re down. I do wish them all the best and I’m sure there’s plenty of people who love what they offer...

My Wife and I shared our first visit to the Royal India. We had a very warm welcome from the lovely Gentleman on the front of house.

It was very atmospheric. Attention to detail, and with nothing too much trouble.

We firstly shared Poppadoms. Then we both had a Starter each.

Main courses and Naan to follow.

From the Poppadoms, through to the Mains, the food was Hot, fresh, well presented and tasted absolutely fabulous! We couldn't of asked for a better meal, it was truly wonderful.

It was our first visit, it certainly will not be our last! Coming off great recommendations, and fantastic reviews, we would most certainly recommend Royal India 👌👏👍😉

We have just enjoyed immensely our Second meal at the Royal India! I've attached our second review to the first review.

The Gentleman who attended to our requirements was a wonderful Guy. Nothing too much trouble.

We enjoyed poppadoms, chuckeys, initially. Mixed starters for the both of us.

Two very flavoursome chicken main dishes. (Sorry I cannot remember their names)

Two Naans One Garlic. One Royal India special Naan. Both Naans were so flavoursome, light and cooked to perfection.

Nice ambience and a lovely atmosphere.

Second review, and so very happy once again to recommend the Royal India! Top marks for a tasty...

We recently dined at Royal India Restaurant in Peel, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. This family-run gem truly captures the essence of authentic Indian cuisine. The warm, welcoming atmosphere immediately made us feel at home, a reflection of the genuine care the family pours into every aspect of the restaurant.

The food is simply exceptional. Each dish bursts with flavor, showcasing a perfect blend of spices and fresh ingredients. The Chicken Tikka Masala was tender and rich, while the Lamb Rogan Josh offered deep, hearty flavors. The naan bread was perfectly soft, warm, and buttery, complementing the curries beautifully. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave fully satisfied.

What sets Royal India apart is the evident pride and passion the family has for their food and service. They went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was memorable, offering personalised recommendations and explaining the nuances of each dish.

If you’re in Peel and craving delicious, authentic Indian food, Royal India is a must-visit. The combination of incredible taste, warm hospitality, and a cozy family atmosphere makes it a standout choice. Highly...
