Rather good tavern on the road to or from Jerusalem. In my humble opinion it is a slight exaggeration to call this place a restaurant.
We ordered shishkebab with bulgur, homemade hummus, and local olives 🫒.
The waiters were very polite and quick. To complete the atmosphere, there was also a begar cat that resisted to leave us until it got some rests of the shishkebab.
The servings were huge; this place doesn't spare on bulgur, especially. The lamb shishkebab was rather juicy and well-seasoned, but hummus made us somehow disappointed with the taste and consistency.

Read moreFirst restaurant in entering Abu Gosh. Nice place, plenty parking opposite restaurant. Staff courteous. Automatically you get a plate of Falafels on your table (you get charged for them 7 ₪- not free, and almost cannot refuse, I suggest not to fight over that), they are fresh and hot. We ordered just Mesabacha (20₪) and Matbucha (13₪). We asked for coffee and Baklawa to finish, we git very sweet Turkish coffee and few pieces of ok baklawa (not the cheap and tasteless, but actually nice and warm, just not high end). Total came to 40 ₪ + 5 ₪ tip. Coffee and Baklawa were on the house (no charge). Next visit here, I'll try something different, but conclusion for now: Achla ! (Great...

You will typically be serves free olives, pickled cucumbers, falafel and pita bread; main courses are around 60-90 NIS or so. A small dish of humus (highly recommended) is about 25 NIS ans small salads are around 15 NIS each. Don't expect unique chef inventiveness or a fancy presentation, but plenty of tasty food at reasonable prices, usually with complementary tea or black coffee with your check.
The parking lot is fairly small relative to the size of this popular place, you'll most likely need to use the unpaved overflow parking "lot" across the street, which although bumpy is...
