Sasson Bar — Restaurant in Haifa

Very good restaurant! We came to celebrate birthday for a family member. We recieved few combined tables in the patio of the restaurant. The food was delicious, we had some gluten free options (sadly most of them not vegan). The restaurant located in the middle of Ahuza neighborhood near the Khorev Center, on the top of Haifa. The closest parking to the restaurant was at the Khorev Center which is 5 minutes walk from the restaurant, there are few parking spots near the restaurant but the are full most of the time. The dishes were very tasty (not kosher in case you wondered),the food got inspired from the Mediterranean and North African kitchen. The price was a average, paid around 1600 ils for 7 people. The clientele were groups of friends, families, business partners (I suppose...) as the restaurant is well designed. The atmosphere was happy, a bit noisy ,the music was greece style. The service was excellent,the waiter took an order from each one of us and took notes about the allergies of the members to try to change the dishes if possible. We came with high expectations after seeing all these amazing reviews. Entering the restaurant we where met by stressed waiters not taking the time to greet us. We didn’t book a table in advance but the hostess “rewarded” us with a table for an hour. Still no smiles, eye contact or friendly greetings. Lots of tables where empty but still the feeling of stress was very obvious. We sat in the corner under the speaker and couldn’t hear our selves. Asked to lower the volume but no significant change. Still no attention from the staff. Lack of menus... just a card with a QR code for looking at their menu on their website. חווית הביקור שלנו בששון בר היום לא הייתה טובה (בלשון המעטה)...

זה התחיל מהזמנת השולחון: התקשרנו באמצע השבוע בערב להזמין שולחן, אחת המלצריות הרימה את השפורפרת, ביקשה להמתין, והחזיקה אותנו רבע שעה בטלפון. כשניתקנו והתקשרנו שוב, אמרו ששכחה... הזוי לחלוטין. בכל אופן, לא היו מוכנים לקבל את ההזמנה, כיוון שהיו עסוקים מדי. התקשרנו יום למחרת לקראת הצהריים, קיבלו את ההזמנה, אך ביקשו את מספר כרטיס האשראי, למקרה שנבטל..

היום הגענו למסעדה, ונאלצנו לעמוד בכניסה כ-10 דקות, כי אף אחד לא היה זמין, למרות שהמסעדה לא הייתה מלאה. כשלבסוף אחד המלצרים פנה אלינו, הצביע לנו לשבת בשולחן, וכשאמרנו לו שהשולחן לא פנוי, הוא אמר, כי לא שם לב, וכי הולך לבדוק. אחרי כ-5 דקות חזר והראה לנו שולחן אחר. כשבאנו לשבת, ראינו, כי השולחן לא נקי. המלצרים התחילו לנקות אותו, אך בצורה די מזלזלת: השולחן עדיין נשאר מלוכלך (התלכלכנו כשנגענו בשולחן, כדי לעבור), והיו פירורים על הספה ועל הכיסאות. המלצרים עשו טובה וניקו שוב...

הבאנו יין מהבית, ונאמר לנו, כי דמי החליצה הם 55 ש"ח על כל בקבוק. יש לציין, כי זו לא הפעם הראשונה, שאנו מביאים יין מהבית, ולעולם לא שילמנו דמי חליצה כה גבוהים... עוד דבר הזוי...

הזמנו את המנות, חלקן היו טובות, אך חלקן לא טובות: למשל, במנת שיפוד נתח קצבים הבשר לא היה לעיס. כשפנינו למלצרית, היא גלגלה עיניים, ואמרה שזה לא יכול להיות. אמנם העבירה את התלונה לאחראי המשמרת, לקח לו זמן להגיע אלינו, וגם הוא אמר, כי זה לא יכול להיות.

בסוף הארוחה הזמנו קפה וקינוחים נוספים. הביאו קפה וסוכר, אך לא הביאו כפיות לערבב את הסוכר, וכשביקשנו להביאן, לקח הרבה זמן, והקפה התקרר.

חבל... באנו לחגוג ארוע משמח ומרגש, אך יצאנו בתחושה לא...
