The Duke — Restaurant in Haifa

Reserved a table for two for 20:45 Aug, 7th 2023. We got a table between 3 tables of 6 people! And another one of 4 people. One of the tables was very loud (which is fine, they wanted to have fun just like me), and to make things worse the bartender kept turning up the music. So the place was loud and I couldn't talk to my husband (can't imagine if we were on a date). I am trying to understand what did the manager think- placing a table of 2 surrounded by 22 people with space fit for an anorectic. We were there for less than an hour. We literally took off. We Spend 213 NIS (we ordered a bottle of beer, a glass of red wine, a burger, and chicken with green beans). Before we got out, I asked for the manager to let him know it was very disappointing. I was told he is somewhere in the restaurant. Then I was told to say what I wanted to say to some waiter/ floor manager (maybe?!), and that he will pass it on to the manager. I told him it was very unpleasant and unthoughtful to sit us next to 22 people in less than a square foot, and instead of apologizing he just said "Why am I yelling" (which I wasn't, my husband was saying I was far from yelling)- I guess the best defense is offense. In conclusion, when you reserve a table for 2- ask how many tables will be around you. The food was ok, but not worth the price you pay for it. The service was so-so. I went to this place yesterday with my childhood friend after long time no see , I was really surprised from the service in this place like OMG long time i didn't see rude places like this . first they told us there is no free seats we had to book first we went out then i saw that the place from outside it was almost empty i came back & asked her why there is many empty seats she told me that she wanted to tell me that there is 2 free seates but she got busy , so we entered the resturant and she wanted us to sit in the corner of the bar next to the kitchen enterance despite there is 5 empty seats next to us we asked to sit in better place she told us they can't it's booked & even the asked us to move 1 seat closer to the kitchen resturant, 2 hours and no one came literally . the food is OK 7/10 reltively to haifa but the service is awful & the bar man super rude he gave us the check without to ask for it & then they told us that the tip is not enough . it was an awfull experience. not...

We wanted to like it but.... The good: The cocktails and beer selection are fantastic. The food is actually quite delicious. The place is quite lovely and unique looking. The bad: The tables are so badly placed, the place is so crowded that it's impossible not to constantly be pushed by other people while sitting specially kids. Service is not truly the best, they seem understaffed. I got up myself to order. And later I asked 4 times and waited about 20 minutes for a glass of water, even though by then the place was pretty empty. The worst: Everything else would have been annoying but acceptable if by the end of our meal we wouldn't have had to deal with an entitled rude waitress who believed she deserved a high tip even though the service was very poor. She thought it appropriate not only to complain about the already undeserved amount of the tip and made faces at my husband. Extremely unprofessional.
