SKETCH — Restaurant in Haifa

It's not my first review here. I've been visiting a few times and enjoyed. Nice atmospher, disabled and children friendly, affordable prices, light food, many ice cream flavors, clean, good service. This time was very disappointing. We had 2 salads: Cesar and Panzanella Artichoke. The Cesar, was poor in taste because the sauce was almost only mayonnaise with salt and black pepper, a bit of parmesan cheese that was found almost at the end and one small egg. The Panzanella was like an "onion salad" full of onion with a strong taste that covered the other seasoning like lemon, salt etc... it had just 4 small pieces of artichoke (dig to be found) we asked without anchovies. The best italian food we’ve ever eat. Even after spending 2 weeks in italy earlier this year and visiting at least 30 italian restaurants, this small cafe offers high quality and very tasty selection of typical italian dishes. We ordered mushroom pizza which was great. The fettuccine with Alfredo sauce was also magnificent. The cheese ravioli was exquisite, the cheese inside is heavenly. The artichoke salad was great. We also ordered two sweet dishes, crepe and Belgian waffle. You’d think what special could be in such typical sweets, but we were amazed. Both tasted very special and nothing like any other crepe or waffle in other sweets shop. The ice cream is another story, cannot be described by words. Cool place, I like the design, clearly a lot of effort was made to achieve the unique look... But the food was disappointing. We had the pizza which was bland and dough was way too thick. Maybe it's worth coming for the dessert; which seemed more appealing, or perhaps the aesthetics of the place are enough to draw you in for a drink and sit-down, but I would not come here for lunch or dinner. As it is a new place I hope they will improve; the staff was quite young, so I hope they bring someone experienced to manage as it seemed quite disorganised...
