China Class — Restaurant in Herzliya

I rarely give less than 5 stars. In this case I have little choice. To be completely frank with you my dear prospective China Class patron my wife and my in laws liked the food. That alone tells quite a lot. The same people who were not very excited about the 5 stars Chinese place in Brussels. I must stop here. You expect me to talk about food and not about my relatives. Political correctness is important. Being focused is even more so.

Tom Yum soup is mainly a lemon. I like lemons. Give me a bowl of hot lemon juice and I will drink it. I like sour. I like spicy food as well. The soup was sour. That's all it was. Plus 50NIS or whatever price tag on top. The Chef must be ashamed. Chefs duck was Ok. It was not an unforgettable thing I would love to eat again and again. Lemon chicken was a surprisingly good dish. They forgot to bring wonton. This is a minor thing.

The place serves the kind of food you could find at a cheap generic Asian take away joint in London or 8USD buffet in the US. This counts as a compliment when we discuss anything Chinese in Israel. The best part of the late dinner was Choya's Classic with fruits. Which is Japanese, but who cares. Choya never fails.

My non professional advice is to skip the food. Drink Choya and watch famous Chefs on the large LCD under the ceiling. You won't be disappointed.

I just read some of the raving five stars reviews. There is a good chance that you will like the food too. There is enough oil in there to make most dishes edible. Herzelia does not have lot of businesses open on Saturdays. The city is not a full of life metropolis. Please pardon me for telling the obvious. If you ask me, it sucks to choose between driving to Girafe in Herzelia Pituach or walking a few minutes to China Class. Life is full of hard...

While the name suggests Chinese cuisine, the restaurant also offers Thai food and Japanese dishes. It is really a restaurant that serves Asian like food. As someone who is married to a Chinese woman, who also happened to be an excellent cook, I feel comfortable to say that the food served in this joint is not authentic Chinese food. The food can be thought of as “Israeli style Chinese food”. That said the food we ordered was good and satisfying. The service was good, and courteous. We only sampled the chicken dishes. The lemon chicken seemed a bit raw (that is the color of the chicken breast was a bit pink rather than white). We were told by the manager that this is how the dish should be made. We were not convinced, and the dish was replaced by another dish from the menu without any issues. Overall we a had a good time, nice food, and we will comeback to try more items...

השירות הכי נוראי שנתקלתי בו בחיי! זוהי הפעם השניה שלי במסעדה, באמת לא יודעת למה חזרתי! בפעם הראשונה ביקשתי במפורש צמחוני וקיבלתי מנה בשרית לאחר שווידאתי שזה אכן צמחוני. רק לאחר כמה דקות הבינו את הטעות ישלחו מנה במקום ללא לבקש סליחה , פשוט החליפו בגסות את הצלחת- לא קיבלתי פיצוי או החזר. בפעם השניה, ביצענו הזמנה לפי התפריט אותו הגישו לנו, ללא ציון של שום שינויים במחירים או תפריט. אעזוב את העובדה שחיכינו 40 דקות כשאין עומס ושכל פעם שרצינו לתפוס את המלצרים הם לא היו בסביבה כלל. מה שהימם אותי היה היחס מטעם אחראי המשמרת! זה התחיל מכך שהתלוננתי על כך שהמחיר שהופיע בחשבונית היה גבוה משהופיע בתפריט לאחראי המשמרת (דני) , מיד לאחר תלונתי קיבלתי זרם של הטחות על הטעות שאני ביצעתי מאותו הבחור ושהוא יצא בסדר, אני רק רציתי לשפר את השירות ואת הבהירות שלו אך הוא התחיל בתוקפנות להפיל הכל עלי ולומר לי שאני חוצפנית על כך שמנסה לתקן אותו. הוא המשיך בסיפור חייו ולנסות לגרום לי לרגשות אשם וטען שיש לו נסיון חיים עשיר וששוב אני טועה. לאחר שנמאס לי מהיחס שלו, ביקשתי לדבר עם בעל העסק, האחמש התעלם וענה שהוא אינו נמצא ו שאני "יכולה להגיע ביום אחר ולראות אם הוא יהיה פה". דבר זה לא הספיק ודרשתי את המספר שלו אך אינני קיבלתי, במקום המשכתי לקבל תלונות על פנייתי וכן את המילים " מרגיש לי ממך שזה מאוד אישי, למה את רוצה לגרום לבחור בן שלושים עם ילדה לאבד את העבודה" . המשכתי לעמוד על שלי וביקשתי משאר המלצרים את המספר, לאחר חוסר תגובה פנתה אלי אחת המלצריות וניסתה להבין מה קרה. היא הייתה בעמדתו למרות שניכר שהבינה את ההתנהלות שלו, בשלב זה האחמש מגיע ומצטרף לשיחה שם מעיר " מה אתן משועממות, למה אתן עדיין כאן על זה" זאת בתוקפנות נוראית, אנו התעלמנו והמשכנו לדבר איתה אך הוא המשיך עד שהגיע לצעקות של ממש, בשלב זה חברתי הצטרפה לשיחה והחלטתי שנמאס, המלצרית התנצלה בפעם הראשונה בערב ויצאנו מהמסעדה- לא היה עם מי לדבר. עד עכשיו לא קיבלתי את מספרו או התנצלות אמיתית.
