Let's start from the end. I really hoped that finally I was trying a good and interesting meaty restaurant in Modiin. Sadly it was not the case. It could maybe be that because we tried the place in the middle of the week and tasted only some lighter dishes , my judgment was affected but still. Anyway we started with Asado croquette. I liked that dish even tough the presentation was a bit weak. I thought it was different and the texture was interesting. It reminded me of the meaty version of the arancini. For main course I had the chicken liver in wine with mashed potatoes. My benchmark for that dish is a worker restaurant in Tel Aviv and it is just not on the same level. By far not as tasty and also not as light. A big disappointment. My wife had a chicken breast with roast potatoes. Nothing special, perfectly edible but no imagination or concept of being large with adding a bit of sauce or some salad on the side. For desert we had some chocolate fudge composition with red forest fruits. There is a nice trick in the beginning but all together a very heavy dessert. The waitering was...
Read moreThis was our first time in Fedrik, though I had seen it mentioned on Facebook on numerous occasions. This is a casual restaurant and the decor is quite pleasant. When we arrived, it was an off hour, so we were immediately seated.
The menu is quite extensive, and making a decision wasn't easy, but we decided to share buffalo wings as a starter, followed by a hamburger (for me) and a chicken dish ("pargiyot") for my husband. The dishes were generous and tasty. We decided against ordering dessert since we had eaten enough, but then we were offered a complimentary dish of vanilla ice-cream topped with espresso ("affogato"), which we couldn't refuse. Needless to say, that nice little treat was greatly appreciated.
In general, Fedrik seems to be a good choice for couples, as well as families, who are interested in having a casual meal. The service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. A special advantage is the fact that it isn't kosher, so it is open...
Read moreWe been there yesterday for the first time. ordered 300g steak (came medium as ordered, with good crust, fat was yammy, meet itself was flavorfull, came with roasted vegtiables mix that each has its own right cocking time and temperatue,.so it was.done, but not mooshy, with good browning) meat sandwich (my wife was very pleased) and meet salad (propr amount of vegtiables and perfectly seasond and roasting chicked slices, with not-overwelming dressing. All was under 400 (including tip and coffe we eventually passed due to almond milk, and not cow milk since it is kosher). Service was kind and envolved enough, but not too much. And this is the main key for proper service.
Music and lighting was right both in type and volume/intensity. Including in the restrooms. So you can read the menu, see the color of the food and hear your partner...
