Decks Restaurant — Restaurant in Tiberias

This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had.

We were seated promptly upon arrival, nice location on the deck, but we should have realized something was wrong when it took 10 minutes for the waitress to even bring us the menus.

We ordered as soon as we could. It was then a very long wait until the food arrived, and when it did, first my meal came, by itself. As I didn't want it to get cold, I began eating, and was nearly finished when she brought the meal for one of my boys 10 minutes later. She told us she'd be right back with my other son's meal (they both ordered the exact same thing!) but didn't come back for a further 10 minutes, at which point my first son was nearly done with his meal! So three meals brought out over 20 minutes apart!

The food is ok, but incredibly, considering the price, comes with nothing on the side. I mean nothing. A piece of meat and not even a vegetable or anything else with it.

During our long wait and entire meal, the waitress did not stop by even ONCE to ask us if we needed anything (we would have liked ketchup and more water...). Not even once. We told the Maitre D', who basically responded with a shrug.

She then brought us our bill (didn't think of asking us if we wanted more food, and of course did not apologize for the service), and walked away.

I'm sorry to say that we were appalled by this restaurant. I've had better meals at places where I've paid a quarter of the price.

My strong advice would be to eat anywhere else but...

It started with a beautiful deck full with families having dinner on one of the Sukot holiday days. A weird guy standing on our head (The manager) when we were trying to figure out if we wish to stay and announcing to us we shouldn't bother since he has no vacant for the next 45min. When we returned we were asked to wait 15-20min for them to set the table. After 30min I approached the manager who lead me to a table which was not clean or ready at all, we were sitting for additional 10min and I had to approach the manager again, But then.. Arrived our waiter, a hard working young man who obviously had to deal with the fact he has too much job compared to normal restaurants since the managers didnt prepare the shift right.

HE HAD ONE GOAL IN MIND, TO MAKE OUR EVENING THE BEST POSSIBLE. FROM THAT MOMENT IT TURNED TO BE THE BEST MEAT MEAL I EVER HAD IN IL. EACH SINGLE PART AND KIND OF FOOD ON OUR TABLE (EVEN THE ICE IN THE GLASS) WERE EXCELLENT!!! Meat was delicious! We enjoyed and enjoyed and left full and happy. Thank you YARIM and modest grill man! For saving an almost failed restaurant staff planning to be an amazing Experiance.

Asked for a pitcher of tap water. Restaurant was still pretty empty. Waitress said they were out of pitchers, but they have bottles of mineral water. Ok, so bring me tap water in bottles. Waitress brought a pitcher of tap water. Magic! Should have left then.

Ordered food for a party of five. Many tables seated after us got food. So we asked when will the food arrive? In a few minutes. How many minutes? Let me check and get back to you. Lots of time elapsed with no response. Finally the overpriced food arrived. Now get this, neither the overpriced beef, nor the overpriced fish came with any sides. Not even a vegetable.

However, one of us ordered fries. But the fries were never delivered, except - get this - we were charged for it on the final bill. Challenged the bill and had the fries removed. No apologies. No excuse why a large party which came after us got to eat and leave before our food was delivered to us. STAY AWAY!

BTW, I am fluent in both English and Hebrew. Nothing was lost in...
