Sadly, such a disappointment. We had such high hopes for this place with these reviews. Not only will you get better wine and food choices but you won’t spend absurd amounts of money or chip your tooth on something like rocks in your food.

So, the run down of this restaurant…

The pros: The ambiance is nice The dessert was delicious (but it was about 4 bites and 10€….) The carpaccio was wonderful

BUT

The cons: The prices are insanely high for the sizing, quality, flavors, etc.

My husband had something hard and gritty in his lobster pasta dish and almost chopped a tooth eating it

The dishes (the pasta) were very small. The lobster pasta was sour and off balanced. My ravioli tasted pre frozen and was soggy.

The TAP water that wasn’t even cold cost us 7 EUROS. For TAP water… what in the world?!?

Do yourself a favor… go elsewhere. 110€ for 2 people to leave still hungry and...

Beautiful old classic building that was renovated and adjusted to meet modern requirements. Nice outside seating area but even nicer interior. While furnished very modern it still embraces the classic cosy atmosphere.

The menu is very limited and focuses on a few appetizers, mains and desserts. But there is no limitation on quality. Everything we had was delicious. The wine menu on the other hand is very diverse and offers a lot of depth. Service is great as well and prices...

Decidiamo di andare a cena al Pillhof su iniziativa del mio fidanzato, il quale aveva un bel ricordo (oggi rovinato) del posto.Tavolo prenotato per le 21, alle 21.10 il tavolo era ancora da preparare, quindi nell'attesa sono stati proposti due calici di "bollicine", accettati solo per colpa del mio fidanzato fattosi prendere dall'entusiasmo. Dopo una breve attesa arriviamo al tavolo, che in effetti era già libero al nostro arrivo. Credo di non avere mai visto un menù più misero e banale di questo, a prezzi a dir poco sproporzionati, soprattutto alla luce di quello che ci sarebbe stato servito. Nonostante le poche proposte, l'unico antipasto (su 3!) scelto era naturalmente terminato. Abbiamo quindi ripiegato su una burrata e una tartare, eseguiti sotto soglia della decenza (e sono eufemistica), accompagnati da un cestino di pane vecchio e servito in un cesto con un tovagliolo usa e getta di carta stropicciata in vista. Ormai sconfortati abbiamo ripiegato su due calici di vino e una bottiglia d'acqua e siamo fuggiti alla velocità del suono. Nb: vi lascio...
