Gasthaus Rauscher — Restaurant in Überetsch-Unterland - Oltradige-Bassa Atesina

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We arrived at 13:56, hoping to have a quick lunch and feed our child a simple plate of pasta. To our surprise, the staff refused to serve us, saying the kitchen was already closing — even though it was not yet 14:00.

In Italy, it’s quite standard for restaurants to serve lunch until at least 15:00, so this was both unexpected and extremely frustrating. We were traveling with a hungry child, and the lack of flexibility and hospitality was truly shocking.

Unfortunately, we left with a very negative impression. Definitely not the kind of service you’d expect in a family-friendly place or in a country known for its warm and welcoming food culture.

Wir waren zu Viert und sind vom Wandern zu einer kleinen Getränkepause eingekehrt. Der Wirt hat uns freundlich Empfangen und hat uns sehr schnell bedient. Wir haben ein paar Bier und Gläser Wein bestellt. Der Wirt war sehr freundlich, was man mit der Südtiroler Art des Charmes nicht verkennen darf. Wer einmal im Allgäu war weiß, dass die etwas kaltschnäuzige Art und Weise keineswegs unfreundlich oder unhöflich gemeint ist. Man muss sich ein wenig auf die Art einlassen dann tauen die Leute auch auf. Der Wirt kam zu uns am Tisch und hat ein wenig nach Herkunft und Urlaub gefragt und hat uns auf Nachfrage auch die lokalen Geschäfte erklärt und uns darüber Hinaus auch ein klein wenig die Südtiroler Geschichte (auf Nachfrage) erklärt.

Alles in allem ein schöner und unterhaltsamer Aufenthalt. Zum Essen können wir nichts sagen da wir nur Getränke...

Fermati per una veloce merenda dopo un viaggio infernale da Bologna con due bambini piccoli. Parcheggiamo e subito ci dicono che il parcheggio è privato e non possiamo lasciarla lì... Chiarisco subito che entreremo al cafè ma già partiamo male. Uno yogurt, un succo, mezza acqua e un toast, vi lascio la foto perché non credevo alle mie orecchie. Il toast per di più l'ho dovuto ricordare al barista dopo ben 10 minuti che lo vedevo vagare mi aveva insospettito, infatti se l'era scordato. Appena risaliti in macchina il simpatico proprietario è corso a verificare che ce ne andassimo. Se uscite a Egna/Ora andate avanti non lasciatevi tentare dall'aspetto esteriore.
