Franz Haas Winery — Attraction in Überetsch-Unterland - Oltradige-Bassa Atesina

Beautiful scenery and delicious wines. I pulled in here after descending into this stunning valley from the Alps and saw vineyards everywhere. Googled pointed me in the direction and I was not disappointed. I tried a couple of wines (Pinot Nero and Lagrein) and they were delicious. I instantly bought a few of bottles. The Pinot Nero needs very little time to breathe unlike the rabid acidity of a Burgundy which needs hours. I guess that’s the difference in temperature (and reflected in alcohol content)

The Lagrein is very pleasant drinking. I think both bottles were quite well priced (less than 20 euros) given the quality.

Yes I understand the qualms about the twisty top. It does detract from the romanticism a tad. But certainly the quality is there and you will soon forget about it as you quaff these lovely wines.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the winery today. We are staying down the road at Manna Resort and were able to add this winery experience in last minute. We were extremely lucky and had Andi Punter for our tour and tasting. He was extremely knowledgeable and kind.

I absolutely loved all the wines, there truly wasn’t one wine I didn’t enjoy. Usually I am more of a white wine drinker, but even the reds were super smooth and easy to drink. It was also cool seeing behind the scene on what actually goes in to making the delicious wines they produce.

I would highly recommend booking at tasting here. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming and the wine is delicious! I hope we are able to find and buy Franz Haas back home...

Today the #Vivavino #Wineshop has the latest deliveries of #wine from #franzhaas 💥💥💥 The producer is connected with art not only by the very fact of making wine, but also thanks to cooperation with the artist Riccardo Schweizer, who in turn is known for collaborations with #Chagall and #Picasso in creating wine labels. All the labels were given to Franz by Maria Luisa Manna, as a good omen when he released his wines. Franz Haas è riconosciuto da sempre come grande appassionato e cultore del vitigno più ostico, più sensibile, più appagante: il #PinotNero. Altro dettaglio che distingue Franz Haas, è il collegamento con l’artista Riccardo Schweizer, che collaboró anche con Picasso, Chagall e realizzò le etichette dei vini che furono donate da Maria Luisa Manna a Franz, come buon auspicio per l’uscita dei suoi vini. 🍇 l #PinotNero, chiamato “il bianco fra i rossi”, si presenta a seconda dell’annata con un mutevole gioco di colori, che può variare dal rosso rubino chiaro ad un rosso rubino intenso. Il bouquet si apre con note di marasche e lamponi, marzapane e marmellata di prugne, chiodi di garofano e cannella. Alla fine si percepiscono aromi di sottobosco. Si sposa molto bene con piatti di pesce leggeri, arrosti di selvaggina e carni rosse. 🍇 Il #Gewürztraminer si presenta con un colore giallo dorato intenso ed un bouquet profondo di aromi complessi come litchi, buccia d’arancia, chiodi di garofano, noce moscata e rosa. Il vino si abbina perfettamente a patè di fegato, carni bianche, crostacei grigliati così come a numerosi piatti e spezie asiatici. 🍇 Il #MoscatoGiallo, prodotto nella sua variante secca, si presenta di colore giallo oro leggermente smorzato. È un vino fine ed aromatico. All’inizio di percepiscono note di agrumi, pesca bianca, melissa e sambuco, a cui si uniscono sfumature di noce moscata e spezie dolci. Il vino si presta come aperitivo oppure come semplice abbinamento ad antipasti leggeri, aromatici e speziati. #verona...
