Five stars for service does not even begin to describe the staff at La Terrazza degli Dei. After two nights at the hotel, my wife and I genuinely looked forward to seeing the staff at meals.
At breakfast, Manuela, who gallantly saved us from a bee, was later seen holding someone's baby so they could finish their meal. Their Sicilian hospitality and warmth are truly extraordinary. When I asked, "Am I ordering too much?" she replied, "You're on vacation in Sicily - enjoy," and we really did.
One evening, our waiter noticed we hadn’t eaten our all of our raw seafood which was delicious but admittedly as Americans we were novices eating some of the items raw. So, the server offered to grill it for us instead and it was heavenly.
On our first night, Giovanni, with his remarkable ability to turn a barbecue with strangers into the most memorable night of our trip, was exceptional. The food, the wine, and delighting in a table of intelligent people from all over the world left us wanting more. These people became our friends for our stay.
We normally love exploring towns and sightseeing, but we found ourselves loving the hotel restaurant so much that we didn’t want to leave. You will not find a better meal in Sicily, nor a kinder, more...

Their pianist is a phenomenal talent and will delight your dinner with a consistently outstanding performance.
Their selection of fresh fish is of the highest quality, we found the spaghetti with clams (spaghetti alle vongole) to be the best we have ever eaten anywhere in the world. Growing up in Italy, I know what I'm talking about.
Their menu diversity will satisfy every preference or diet profile, the sky is the limit and the choice is yours to combine flavors. Their waiters are incredibly elegant and helpful and will be glad to assist you during your entire dining experience.
Last but not least, all of this in a high end classy atmosphere as you are sitting right in front of the legendary temples, that provide a view like no other.
We went for lunch and dinner - both were beyond fantastic and highly curated experiences. We look forward to seeing la Terrazza degli Dei being a Michelin star rated restaurant. It is well beyond a restaurant, it is a unique life experience - whether you are with your loved one for a romantic evening or with your...
This was by far the worst dining experience during our two-month trip across Italy. We had a reservation, arrived on time, paid over €200 for two people, and behaved respectfully throughout. Given that this restaurant is known for its “temple view” and is part of a luxury hotel, our expectations were high—but it failed in every way.
Except for the woman who greeted us at the entrance, the waitstaff were indifferent and unfriendly. No one offered to refill our water, and we had to get up and do it ourselves. The oldest male server was especially unprofessional—he shoved existing plates across the table with another plate, causing utensils to fall. He also carelessly dropped cutlery onto plates and failed to set the table properly.
Most shocking of all, a large heater was placed directly between our table and the temple view during the meal, completely blocking the scenery. No one asked for our permission, and even though we asked another staff member to move it, it remained there until we left.
I don’t know if this server behaves this way with all guests or just with us, but it was deeply disrespectful either way. The way we were treated made us feel like we were being discriminated against, which was deeply upsetting.
There are plenty of kind, delicious, and welcoming restaurants in Sicily. I hope no one else has to go through what...
