One of the best preserved temples, this and Temple of Concordia are the main most majestic houses of worship in the valley. It's the first one you get to see if entering from here, Ingresso e biglietteria Valle dei Templi - Tempio di Giunone, as we did. As we came by car, we parked at Gate V, took the 3 EUR per person taxi to the other end, and only walked the way back (2,5 hour promenade). This was recommended by our hosts, and it's also presented at the Gate V entrance. Then we paid the admission ticket of 10€ at the second entry, less than 5 min waiting line, same price as on their official website. No need to pay triple for skip the line. You can also pay 5€ extra for the museum, but that's located in a totally separate area, so you can pay directly at the museum if deciding to visit. We didn't. As it's usually super hot (we were there in June), it's advisable to wear a hat and get some sunscreen. We weren't prepared, but we bought some hats at the entrance for around 15€/piece (there's lots of options), which turned out super useful and a nice memory to take home. :) Several spots where you can fill up your water bottle, plus a nice cafeteria with drinks, sweets and snaks close to the main temple of Concordia.

Merci d'avance. Bonne visite. 2 stars Positive points - really beautiful - still well maintained Negative points - we bought online tickets , after reading that ticket sale is very chaotic. Also knowing it’s extremely hot. This should have saved us and let us entered smoothly. WRONG !! No , they still require us to exchange online for paper tickets wherefore you need to queue. This makes no sense and as soon a employee noticed , he let us know that we have priority. But no one of the cashiers cares and just continue do their sales. At first they shouldn’t have asked us to exchange as it’s already foreseen of a qr code. Also where is the benefit of buying the ticket in advance if a paper ticket is required. Makes no sense at all. There wasn’t a counter for in advance bought tickets. - inside you are able to find 3EUR one way car services , the staff sits and never give a go. -very difficult to get to and leave the place to just the train station. the one and only option is there is a taxi from the exit to the train station for 15EUR. PS ; driver is nice BUT does clearly tries to sell that you agreed on a ride first to the “Scala dei turchi” before getting to the station. We insisted that we had a train ride already booked. Thanked the driver but we really needed to catch our train.

"You don't need to go to Athens to feel the ancient Greek culture." This is the evaluation of later travelers. The Valley of the Temples is a hill 2 kilometers south of Agrigento, Sicily, Italy. Strange to say, although it is named after "Valley", it is indeed a hill with a dangerous terrain. On one side, you can overlook the urban area of Agrigento, and on the other hand, you can sit on the green land of the valley, and your vision is very broad. The red ruins of ancient Greek temples are arranged on the top of the hill, which are full of momentum and extraordinary. Although they have been destroyed by natural disasters, wars and Christians, they are still relatively intact. In 1997, the Valley of the Temples was included in the "World Heritage List" by UNESCO under the name of "Agrigento Archaeological Zone".

This Place is a "must see" if you're traveling in Sicily. At least 3 "worth to see" temples and a really nice park. The admission is reasonable and so are the prices for food or drinks inside the park. The only thing I didn't like is the APP for the park - the download is free BUT you have to pay another 4$ if you want to have any fuctionality like the audio guide etc. A walk from one end to the other takes about 2 hours. There're parking lots on both sides and a Taxi from one parking lot to the other (where you started is another 10 bucks for a group of maximum 4)

The Greek Temples were constructed in the 5th Century BC on high ground gazing towards the Mediterranean Sea. The sedimentary rock used for construction was quarried nearby. The Temple of Concordia is a masterpiece of Greek history and one of the best preserved in the ancient world. Nearby are many abandoned tombs, graves and a necroplis.. There is also a large excavated town or city on the preservation area and a Greek theater is currently being excavated that might of accommodated 30,000 people. This is certainly a place not to miss during your visit to Sicily.
