RISTORANTE LA TAVERNA DEL TUFFATORE — Restaurant in Agropoli

Awful place avoid at all costs. Sat down waited an hour and a half for our starter to arrive with cold mussels and 4 slices of prosciutto and 2 balls of mozzarella that were dry. Asked by one lovely blond waitress what we were waiting for when we told her she was the only one to query it with the kitchen. We asked for plates to eat our starters and the wait staff only brought one plate to our table of 3. We ordered wine while we waited patiently and were told they were too busy to serve us due to the restaurant being busy. After an hour an hour and a half we decided to leave with no sign of our pasta coming anywhere. We went downstairs to pay for the food we got and the manager basically lost the plot started verbally abusing one of our party members. She gave us two options of one pay for the food and take it away when (if it was ever) ready or we sit back down and possibly wait till morning by the time food is ready. She then made us pay for god only knows what which neither receipt corresponds to what we ordered. We paid €50 just to get out and for her to stop abusing us. Never...

Shocked to see the low rating. We asked if they would make us Carbonara, which wasn’t on the menu (atleast we didn’t find it), and which isnt on any menus around here… They could! Amazing.

It was great, a lovely carbonara, one fried pork steak with chips, and tomato-sauce gnocchi. We all were very happy with our meals. I finished with tiramisu which was OK- a huge portion, perfect to share.

The Aperol Spritz here was the best I have had on our trip to Agropoli. Just slightly more sweet than other places. Beer, coca cola 👍

Service was fast and friendly. This place also has an english version of their menu, which seems rare around here.

Esperienza deludente e poco autentica – NON ci torneremo.

Io e il mio ragazzo abbiamo cenato in questo ristorante sperando di goderci una bella serata romantica vista mare, ma la realtà è stata ben diversa. Avevo richiesto esplicitamente un tavolo vista mare e ci è stato assegnato un tavolo in seconda fila, con il mare visibile sì, ma solo tra le teste degli altri clienti.

Passiamo al menù: nonostante fossimo letteralmente sopra il mare, il pesce è in buona parte surgelato. È segnalato, ma resta assurdo. Abbiamo ordinato una frittura di pesce, un fritto all’italiana e degli spaghetti ai frutti di mare. Per tre piatti semplicissimi, abbiamo aspettato un’ora intera, e ci è stato detto che era tutto “fatto al momento”. Peccato che parte del pesce fosse surgelato, quindi a rigor di logica bastava solo scaldarlo.

Quando finalmente sono arrivati i piatti, la delusione è stata totale: cibo insipido, frittura unta e pesce privo di gusto. Nessun sapore di mare, nessuna freschezza, solo la sensazione di stare mangiando qualcosa di già visto mille volte nei locali turistici che puntano solo sulla location.

Ma il colmo è arrivato quando abbiamo dato un’alice avanzata a un gattino che girava intorno al nostro tavolo, completamente all’aperto. Siamo stati richiamati in modo seccato da una cameriera, che ci ha detto che “non si può dare da mangiare ai gatti”, nonostante non ci fosse alcun cartello a riguardo. Una scenetta ridicola, soprattutto considerando che eravamo all’aperto e avevamo pagato quel cibo.

Un’esperienza stonata dall’inizio alla fine, in un locale che punta tutto sul panorama (che neanche abbiamo goduto pienamente) e poco o nulla sulla qualità e sull’accoglienza. Luogo evidentemente pensato per turisti di passaggio, non per chi cerca autenticità o buona cucina.
