Agriturismo Masseria Chinunno — Restaurant in Altamura

It has been a nice place in the middle of the countryside, a large area actually divided into two buildings. One building was a restaurant and grocery store where you could buy some probably homemade jams, salami, cheeses, etc.|A little further away was the other building where there was a B&B and factory that you could perhaps go in and look around, but I didn't.|The room was nice, reasonable, comfortable beds, large bathroom and an outside walkway so it was nice to be able to go out and not feel trapped with only windows.|Wifi worked well. The staff was very nice and helpful.|The downside was that it was relatively cold inside, probably central A/C and it couldn't be regulated in the room. But there were warm blankets so I didn't freeze at night anyway.|The other downside was that although there was a dining room in this building, breakfast was still served in the first building and it was a bit of a walk. I had to take the car as I am after leg surgery and have a bit of difficulty walking. So the place is not very suitable for a person with reduced mobility.|The breakfast was good and there was also salami and cheeses, not just pastries.|There was also a restaurant so you could have dinner or lunch and refreshments so that was nice.|As I said it was a nice place, a real agricultural place and a lot to do around as there was a forest too with different activities so it might be nice to stay there for a couple of days and...

I was looking for a quiet place near Altamura, and I found randomly the Masseria Chinunno website. I was so impressed by the beautiful surroundings that I decided to book a room. This place is magic. The area was wonderful, the room was great and the staff was amazingly helpful and kind. A simple breakfast is included, but you can have your lunch ( take away as well) or dinner on site if you need it. The quality of meals ,made with natural ingredients , is fantastic. If you like to relax, surrounded by a country nature and farm's animals, this is the right place;if you like to walk and discover the forest surrounding the B&B , that's the right place. Struttura in pietra molto bella, immersa nel verde. Parlando del ristorante : personale giovane ma non per questo incapace, anzi tutti molto cordiali e sempre pronti ad ascoltare ogni richiesta. Ma oltre questo, purtroppo e sottolineo purtroppo, perché le aspettative erano alte, una grande delusione. Cibo poco e di media qualità, per esempio, il prosciutto crudo affettato e messo al centro, non bastava per tutti gli invitati, nemmeno una fetta a testa. Questo come altri antipasti pochi nei piatti, antipasti che abbiamo dovuto richiedere per accontentare tutti e che ci hanno fatto pagare a parte. Degna di nota la buonissima ricotta e i primi piatti, molto molto buoni. Per il resto, gli antipasti che andrebbero serviti caldi erano freddi, i carpacci e i vari affettati insipidi, mozzarelle ghiacciate di frigorifero. E in una masseria un errore del genere è imperdonabile. Frutta e dolcetti erano stati evidentemente preparati tempo prima nei piatti per poi essere serviti direttamente dal frigorifero al tavolo. La frutta si era seccata e le zeppoline erano di scarsa qualità e ghiacciate, meritava però la pastiera di ricotta. La tagliata di carne buona ma fredda anche quella. Probabilmente la colpa è stata dell'alto numero di invitati nella struttura in quel momento ma se non si riesce a gestire un così vasto numero di clienti forse sarebbe meglio non accettare così tante prenotazioni perché non dovrebbero esistere clienti di serie A e clienti di serie B. Per concludere al momento del conto, ritrovandoci a dover pagare una cifra diversa da quella concordata per via delle richieste di cui sopra, la risposta è stata assurda e ancora più assurdo è stato l'atteggiamento del titolare che ci ha "invitati" a non mettere più piede da loro. Ma vorrei dire che a prescindere non ci saremmo comunque più tornati.
