We had a fantastic experience at La Ruota and ended up coming back three times during our stay in Sardinia — that says it all.

From the moment you arrive, the hospitality is warm and genuine. Michele and Salvatore take great care of you, and if you’re not sure what to order, just let them choose for you — they know exactly what’s best that day. Every visit felt personal and relaxed, like being welcomed by friends.

The food is consistently excellent. There’s a daily arrival of fresh fish and lobster, which they prepare simply and perfectly. The tuna tartare is fresh and flavorful, and every pasta we tried was delicious. The pizza is also excellent — light, crisp, and well-balanced. You can tell they care deeply about quality and detail.

They also have a very nice wine list, with thoughtful local and Italian selections that pair beautifully with the menu.

The setting is another big plus — quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, which makes the experience even more enjoyable whether you’re there for lunch or dinner.

We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Sardinia. Highly recommended...

Let me begin by saying the food was up to our expectations. Mallorredus was the best I have had in the 10 days I have been in Sardinia and the pizza was quite good.

Now with that out of the way, food only makes up for 50% of an experience at a restaurant. We were greeted with less than enthused waitress who showed us to our table. We ordered a couple of things to share, which triggered a series of small, off-putting details and gestures:

Water was not served as it was to the rest of the customers. Our plates were stacked on the table in front of us in preparations for them being taken away, something a waiter/ess must know to avoid from day one. We were left unattended and asked for the bill twice. We were not offered dessert or coffee, standard practice.

In conclusion, and perhaps unintentionally, we felt like second class customers. If this restaurant aspires to become something, it should begin by treating customers equally if they are given a table regardless of the amount they might order. We do not recommend...

✨...

Very good restaurant. Just off a main road, so not great location but the restaurant was very well done inside. We visited twice in our week long holiday. Unfortunately on our first visit we didn't see the pizza menu (who puts a pizza menu AFTER the desserts?!?!) and although the a la carte was gorgeous (we had the seared tuna and black tagliatelle) we were more than slightly jealous of everyone's pizzas arriving. Not to mention a main from the a la carte was around €20 but the average pizza was €8... When we dined the second time we skipped straight to the pizzas and they were just as good as they looked. Plenty of choice and cooked perfectly!

The atmosphere was great but they’re a bit unorganised. We waited more than 50 minutes for a table, even if there were plenty free ones that had to be cleaned. The main waiter, who was the only person responsible for sitting people to their place, was also taking orders, serving drinks and food, so he had a lot to do. After finally sitting at our table, it took again some time to order and get the food itself, which was good but definitely not worth the 2h wait. And be careful, because the same treatment is given to persons who reserved a table!!!
