We were super happy to have chosen Del Torchio for my birthday lunch during our holiday in Angera. Both my husband and I opted for the fish (orata) which was cooked to perfection, accompanied by roast potatoes and grilled Mediterranean veg. Andrea, the owner, is truly passionate about food and wine, and his recommendation of a fantastic white wine, Roero Arneis, complemented the meal beautifully. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The restaurant is nice and cosy, with lovely decor. We enjoyed our lunch so much that we went back again today. To suit the cold rainy weather, we chose Pizzoccheri alla Valtellinese and polenta with porcini mushrooms and slow-roasted guanciale that practically melted in the mouth. Read moreMy idea of an amazing restaurant has been shattered by Del Torchio Al Tavolo. This restaurant is simply one of the best I have ever eaten at. The food and service is faultless and the hospitality of the owner beyond wildest dreams of this foodie. With 200+ restaurant meals a year, across the world, I believe I found the restaurant pot of gold.
I spent 6 nights in Angera and ate there 4 times then spent another 2 nights the following week and ate there twice.
Now I am counting down the clock for my next visit to Italy.

Do yourself a favour and visit this establishment.
