Da Baci' — Restaurant in Apricale

Horrible service and underwhelming food. Unfortunately so, because the square where the restaurant is located is nice nonetheless. Younger waiter is rather intrusive and showoff-y, often making off-putting comments to the guests; the kind of person who lacks a genuine sense of humor and doesn't understand when it would be wiser to change approach. We felt embarrassed for him. A real shame, considering the historical importance of the location itself, where one would assume being treated accordingly. Dinner was mediocre, your typical tourist trap. Forget the vegetarian lasagna, with supermarket-style pesto smeared over...an insult to a classic dish, which quite frankly is hard to get so wrong. Lovely location but otherwise nothing special. It was expensive enough but the food brought looked very simple with no attention to displaying it in a more pleasant fashion. It was just dropped into the plate and brought. Personnel spoke zero english but we managed to communicate in gestures language and our basic Italian. Lasagna was very soft, porridge like and vegetarian (not mentioned on the menu - said just lasagna) and antipasti was very basic and tasted a bit weird, bread was baked yesterday by the taste of it and was hard. Si tratta di uno dei due ristoranti situati sulla piazza principale del borgo di Apricale. Durante l'estate i tavoli sono disposti proprio nella piazza, area dove siamo stati noi. L'atmosfera estiva della cena al lume di candela è quasi da "favola", allestimento degli spazi esterni curato anche nei minimi dettagli: luci, fiori, candele, insomma un ambiente molto romantico. Non possiamo che dare il massimo punteggio a questo locale: Sono previsti due menù a prezzo fisso: tris di antipasti + una portata principale (primo o secondo a scelta), oppure tris di antipasti + primo + secondo. La scelta può essere fatta su una decina di piatti tra primi e secondi. I piatti sono ottimi, uniscono i sapori della tradizione locale ad una presentazione assolutamente moderna ed originale. Si vede la cura sia nella preparazione dei cibi, sia nel servizio. I costi sono ragionevoli, non è un locale economico, ma dato che si tratta di una piazza principale di un paese turistico, situata in un centro storico di difficile accesso, che quindi comporta aumento dei costi di trasporto per le materie prime... direi che il prezzo è anche ottimo! Le porzioni non sono abbondanti, non sono "da trattoria", per noi sono state giuste, dandoci anche la possibilità di mangiare il dolce. Non abbiamo però considerato i vini, dato che non ne consumiamo. Pieni voti anche per il personale, modi squisiti e un'attenzione per il cliente "in quanto persona"...
