Good place to eat on Monday when most of Arqua Petrarca is closed. The osteria is situated in a building that has been newly restored, and it has been done with taste. The bar, the dinning rooms and the terrace are all beautiful. However, choose to lunch inside, especially because they have the AC and in July, it is hot outside... They have good local wines in glasses or bottles: we picked up a local Cabernet and a White from the Colli Euganei for me, look at the photo. It is very floral Moscato secco that comes from the Veneto. Very good!!! We had a parmigiana and ravioli alla burrata, it was so delicious!!!! The dessert was a pistachio ice cream, exquisite. 2 expressi with coffee from Honduras later, we were satisfied and happy to have finally opted for the Lapilli. The plates are from the RAK Ceramics and they have been personalized. Nice and peaceful ambiance. You should park behind the Ventolone Bar and walk to the Lapilli. The parking places are rare in Arqua and this parking place for autos and buses not free (blue lines on the ground in Italy means you have to pay to park. White lines means...
Read moreIt was an absolutely wonderful experience to dine here, I can’t recommend it highly enough. A beautiful, calm, contemporary room with truly wonderful contemporary Italian cooking and excellent wines. The team are passionate and welcoming and are great ambassadors for the best local produce of the region.
The menu is an elevated version of authentic Italian classics with a twist. Highlights were the Venetian sardines to start, the homemade ravioli - filled with beans and served with cuttlefish ink and nduja - for primo and the steak tartare or aubergine parmigiana for secondo. Desserts included a perfect tiramisu and an apricot crumb with hints of rosemary and almond.
A special word for the wonderful wine pairings - the sommelier selected a range of wines by the glass for each course from a natural Prosecco through white and red to a stunning dessert wine. We were offered a little taste of each before we committed to a full glass which was a lovely touch.
The small team, led by a mother and son, could not have been more welcoming and happy to speak with...

But (and here we come to the less good things)...even though the dishes were beautiful, they were expensive for the price and lacked seasoning. It's a shame especially because with a little more oomph they could be excellent. The raw materials were excellent and the direction was right. But one stuffed squid should not (in my opinion) cost 16 euros and be a main course. Or two small (dry) grilled potatoes should not cost 6 euros. In short it was beautiful and stylish food but not tasty or one that makes you smile at the end of the...
