On the top of the village you will find one of the best places to experience the typical local gastronomi. I have been eating here for a while and there's no course that I didn't appreciate. Always with a warm welcome from the owners and staff. The place is decorated nicely and is also very clean. Stopped here yesterday on our way back across form Naples to Foggia. We were a little later than expected so were not going to make it home for lunch. Pulled over, and a quick google search later we found ourselves here. What a great place. Six minutes off the autostrada so why settle for an Autogrill. Great food, friendly staff (our little dog was made very welcome) and an interesting and historic interior. The views from Ascoli S. itself are almost worth the trip on their own. Abbiamo avuto il piacere di gustare un primo piatto che merita una menzione speciale: orecchiette alle cime di rapa, preparate con maestria secondo la tradizione pugliese. La pasta, fresca e ruvida al punto giusto, trattiene alla perfezione il condimento dal gusto intenso ma equilibrato, con quel tocco di piccante che esalta il piatto senza coprirne la semplicità.

A seguire, abbiamo ordinato la carne di agnello, che si è rivelata una vera sorpresa: tenerissima, saporita, cotta lentamente fino a sciogliersi letteralmente in bocca. Un piatto che racconta storie di cucina lenta, fatta con amore e ingredienti genuini.
