Wow. What a fantastic find. We were looking for a place for dinner near Erba on a Saturday evening and stumbled across “al Gatto Verde”, called to ask if they had a table available for two and we were lucky. The Chef spoke to us himself and was super friendly helpful. We did not expect to much to be honest so we were really blown away by this place. Very nice and classy interior and the food was just spectacular!! The waiter did not speak any English but the Chef took time to explain and recommend a few things which turned out fantastic. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area and I can only recommend this...

Il Gatto Verde Scarenna è un ristorante che merita una visita non solo per il suo nome particolare e affascinante, ma anche per l'attenzione e la gentilezza del personale. Il titolare, Alessandro, si distingue per la sua disponibilità e passione, e la sua abilità culinaria lo rende uno chef di alta classe.

Ho avuto il piacere di assaporare un menu della serata che mi ha davvero colpito. Iniziamo con un antipasto di uovo biologico cotto a 63 gradi, accompagnato da patate di montagna, porcini freschi e una deliziosa fonduta di latteria: un piatto che esalta la qualità degli ingredienti e l'arte della preparazione.

Il primo piatto, un risotto Carnaroli gran riserva ai porcini, ha rappresentato un viaggio di sapori. La cremosità del risotto, unita all'intensità dei porcini, ha creato un'esperienza gastronomica davvero memorabile.

Per secondo, ho scelto l’arrosto di vitello potentino mantecato, servito con porcini trifolati. La carne era tenerissima e ricca di sapore, mentre i porcini aggiungevano una nota rustica e profumata.

Infine, per concludere in dolcezza, ho assaporato una panna cotta alla vaniglia con frutti di bosco sbrisolona, un finale perfetto che bilanciava freschezza e cremosità.
