Great food, great hospitality! They squeezed us in even though we had no reservation. The place was FULL and teeming with locals + families. Great Sicilian atmosphere! And even if it was absolutely packed, the service was fast and always with a smile (almost all the waitresses stopped by our table at one point in the night. Let's not forget the food: we had grilled seafood platter and it was so good, that we ordered some grilled shrimps on top (they have a separate grill station for seafood and meat and a separate large brick pizza owen). Alllora, d'istinto avrei dato 3 stelle ma poi riflettendo, è una trattoria che vuole dare un taglio estetico da trattoria.

È esattamente questa l'impressione che si ha sin dal primo passo nel locale, accoglienza del tutto informale, usano il nome dato per la prenotazione anche per salutarti. Il locale non ha "2 metri" di rifiniture uguali ai successivi due metri... ma è questo che una trattoria, concepita probabilmente negli anni 70, deve offrire: un luogo che mette in cantina la priorità estetica degli interni. Tutto è funzionale, raramente ordinato e, ahimè, qualche volta lontano dalle norme igieniche.

I due ragazzi addetti alla brace, maneggiano cibo crudo, carne e pesce, senza neanche pensare di avere a portata di mano dei guanti... ma ripeto, glielo perdono perché siamo in trattoria anche se in cucina mi piacerebbe metterci piede!

Antipasto della casa: caponata squisita, il resto così così, tortino di verdure, frittatina di zucchine, fungo ripieno e pizza rustica al formaggio. Per carità la proposta è veramente rievocativa di casa di nonna ma superfici calde e centro freddo delle pietanze mi fanno pensare ad un microonde che fa "din" in un ristorante e che nn dovrebbe mai esserci.

Aggiungo una polpetta di cavallo, carne buona e cotta perfettamente ma quel condimento a base di aceto messo senza darmi la possibilità di scegliere se volerlo... ehmm... perché? Perché rovinare il sapore di quella carne così, fortuna che il centro della polpetta era meno condito per cui ho assaporato la carne altrimenti avrei pensato ad un sistema per nascondere cattivi sapori. A seguire pizza, ottima, impasto buono e ottima la cottura.

Birretta... 25€ Prezzo direi assolutamente perfetto per l'offerta.

Bella l'atmosfera di famiglie e bambini casciarosi...

Consigliato a chi cerca un'ambientazione zero formalità e cibo casereccio.

The grilled meats and fish are delicious, and the pizza is the most popular with the locals. The staff were very kind and accommodating, but they are always busy so if you want to sit, even for lunch, reserve in advance. Or just order to go.
