A Beautiful Disappointment: A Family Dinner Marred by Missed Opportunities

We dined as a family, lured in by a promising Google rating and high expectations. The presentation of the dishes was truly exquisite — an artful beginning that, regrettably, set us up for disappointment.

Let’s break it down:

Service, or Lack Thereof We poured our own wine — a minor transgression, perhaps forgivable when the kitchen shines. Sadly, that redemption never arrived. Cuisine: A Letdown in Four Courses We ordered four main dishes and two desserts. The pasta was oversalted and uninspired — barely a passable effort. The beef ravioli? If there was beef in it, it must’ve passed by from afar; the flavor simply didn’t arrive. As for the beef entrée, it was tough and sinewy, though curiously accompanied by an excellent carrot — the unexpected highlight of the evening. Desserts: A Final Attempt at Salvation Desserts attempted a late-game rescue. The chocolate offering was decent, worthy of a tentative “good.” But the panna cotta? An epic fail. I appreciate culinary reinterpretation, but if one dares to reinvent a classic, have the courage to rename it. This bore no resemblance to the traditional Italian dessert — a pale imitation, and a puzzling one at that. The Final Insult: The Plate As if to seal the evening with irony, chipped crockery made its own statement. For a place that pays such attention to plating, one would expect the plates themselves to be intact. In sum: a restaurant with visual flair but little substance beneath. All show,...

Very nice restaurant on a small square that will surprise you.

We were seated inside as the outside seating was not prepared and one surprise kept coming after another.

Firstly, they have a truly huge selection of wines.

The main course was delicious, gnocchi were just outstanding and the daily special - tagliatelle with sea urchins - was also delicious. Portions are smaller, but will manage to fill you enough just to leave space for dessert.

The carob tart dessert had a beautiful presentation and acted as a cherry on top of the experience.

The personnel was nice, friendly and spoke English.

Mind that this is primarily seafood restaurant.

Overall, the best...
