We weren't sure if we should visit this place after seeing some of the reviews complain about the booking system. We just went one evening and waited for 15 minutes at the entrance until the owner (I believe it was the owner - white haired gentleman) showed us to our table. No reservation. It's a discreet establishment with dim lights that is perfect for couples, in my opinion - it gives dinner a romantic feeling. The prices are above average but they make up by the way the kitchen staff is plating the food. We had the mixed fried seafood, salmon, mixed fish platter, fried potatoes (like chips/crisps), and Sicilian salad. The beer is overpriced (6 EUR for a large pint) but you go there for the food and the atmosphere - you can drink beer at any bar in the area. Since it was our last day and wanted to stuff ourselves with seafood, we paid almost 100 EUR for a meal for two (2 mixed seafood dishes, 1 salmon dish, 1 mixed fish platter, 2 beers, 1 large sparkling water, and the Sicilian salad). La mia recensione è di sole 3 stelle in quanto la mia soddisfazione è stata decisamente parziale. Le portate ad esempio erano veramente buone, ma il servizio era decisamente latente. Ci siamo fermati qui per cena in quattro ed abbiamo ordinato due spaghetti alla tonnarola, uno ai ricci di mare ed un fritto misto. Mia mamma e mio nonno hanno optato anche per un antipasto con crudité di mare ed un contorno con un insalata di finocchi. Successivamente abbiamo preso il pescato del giorno: un dentice cucinato alla mediterranea ed un'orata fatta al forno e personalmente ritengo il dentice che ho assaggiato uno dei più buoni che abbia mai mangiato in vita mia. Tuttavia ora vengono le note dolenti quali il servizio: abbiamo aspettato almeno 30 minuti solamente per effettuare le ordinazioni ed avrei capito se il numero di clienti fosse stato elevato o ci fossero stati pochi camerieri, ma purtroppo non era questo il caso. Come abbiamo potuto osservare a quasi tutti i clienti è stato chiesto se volessero il pesce pulito dai camerieri e per carità non è una cosa di cui ho bisogno, ma mi sarei aspettato che ce lo chiedessero pure a noi. Devo ammettere di aver mangiato bene. Niente di memorabile e non sono neppure uscito sazio come mi sarei aspettato, nonostante il conto fosse davvero salato. Diciamo che dopo esserci confrontati con i nostri vicini di B&B, locali di Avola, ci è stato detto che questo è una sorta di trappola per i turisti e che abbiamo scelto male. Un ultima cosa che mi ha lasciato abbastanza deluso è stata la totale assenza di pathos da parte della signora alla cassa: non mi aspettavo niente di ché, ma almeno un sorriso, una domanda sulla soddisfazione, magari un digestivo offerto, dopo comunque un conto di 250 euro totali. Ma nulla, conto e saluti. Bastano veramente pochi dettagli, ma questi spesso sono l'aspetto...

(Visited again in December 2023 and I confirm everything) Amazing! I think this is possibly the best eating experience I had in the last few years. Food and service were exceptional. Despite I booked last moment and it was already full they allowed me to go early. Everything from the antipasto to the dessert was divine. We were two families and we tried most of the menu. I advise you to splurge here and make sure to have all courses. Great wine selection. The cinnamon dessert was something I'll never forget. I had visited several years ago and I wasn't impressed.
