Il marinaio bistrot — Restaurant in Avola

Looking at other reviews I can't help my self believe that good friends of the chef wrote them. As we were waiting for our food, the chef, everyone is talking here about, was sitting at the table next to ours chit chatting with some locals so we dont even know who prepared the food...our food came cold, no side dishes included leading us to conclusion the food is overpriced. We did order fries but even then we left the place hungry. As we were finishing our meal waiters were cleaning the terace, they were going to close the place, no one warned us that they were closing soon, and on the web there is no info about that, we were there around 3pm and it said they work till 00:00. We still haven't finished our drinks, they were waiting aside our table to clean it...realy unplasent experiance...all in all food overpriced, everything tasteless, no salt, no seasoning whatsoever, one of the dishes we ordered was grilled sefood that included calamari, those were like rubber and bitter...we wouldn't recomend the place and would rather eat acros the street in a fast food place with great meals and various choices and...

Esperienza mista. La prima sera ci siamo fermati per caso. Abbiamo ordinato cozze e due spaghetti alle vongole. Il servizio è stato rapido e gentile e i piatti davvero buoni. C'è stato il tempo di chiacchierare sia con i ragazzi che servivano al tavolo (gentilissimi) che con quello che immagino fosse il proprietario. Conto nella media -- da ristorante più che da chioschetto. Forse due euro a coperto per tovagliette di carta è un po' troppo ma siamo sul mare e ok. Decidiamo di tornare qualche sera dopo. Un altro mondo. Arriviamo alle 21.40. - chiediamo un tavolo e veniamo fatti accomodare. Ci portano i menù e dell'acqua e poi spariscono tutti. Il ragazzo della sera precedente seduto in cassa mentre a prendere gli ordini c'è una ragazza con la camicetta gialla. Dopo 10/15 minuti in cui veniamo totalmente ignorati, faccio segno alla ragazza con la camicetta gialla che siamo pronti a ordinare - mi fa segno con la mano e sparisce a prendere ordini ad un altro tavolo arrivato dopo di noi . Passa altro tempo e chiedo ad un cameriere se per favore può prendere l'ordine ma pare che solo la ragazza in giallo sia autorizzata. Finalmente arriva - ordiniamo una caponata da dividere e a seguire dei cavatelli ed una frittura. La caponata arriva quasi subito - davvero buona. Poi un'attesa infinita - alle 23 finalmente escono i piatti, dopo averli sollecitati diverse volte. Il tutto mentre la ragazza in giallo chiacchierava seduta ad un tavolo con clienti "locali", incurante degli altri tavoli e con i camerieri che cercavano di mettere pezze agli errori della cucina e degli ordini. Ordiniamo il caffè e vado a pagare. Né una scusa, neanche un accenno di sconto (andava bene giusto il caffè..), un amaro offerto - nulla. Conto pieno - 60 Euro - arrivederci (non credo) e grazie. Peccato perché il cuoco - che esce per chiedere ai tavoli "amici" se il primo andava bene - ha una bella mano e i ragazzi che servono ai tavoli sono carinissimi. Bastava davvero poco - due...

Don't go here, especially if you are a tourist. We are really not picky or something, but i was never treated so bad at any restaurant in the whole world. I'm writing as I sit here after asking for the bill the second time. They forget all the time and don't care. They gave us the worst table, then they forgot the wine, some of the food and they ignore you all the time and are lovely to the locals. They even forgot the oil for the salad, it came like it was, they didn't care. Really, don't come here. Oh I forgot it's like three times more expensive then every other restaurant here. The food was also bad and they calculated stuff that...
