Food was nice. Building and setting was lovely.

However, here is a play by play of the service.

Arrived, got seated. Asked for some still water for the table, was given sparkling.

Ordered drinks (a glass of wine, a beer and some sprite), starters (mussels and bread with oil (because all that was on the menu was fish and one of us hates fish)) and mains (one pizza and one calzone). Order was confirmed correctly by the waiter.

Had to request a glass for the beer about 5 minutes after it arrived, because who wants to drink beer from the bottle at dinner?

One starter came out, I had to request my mussels again about 15 minutes after the bread and oil starter came out. Then about 5 minutes later it arrived.

Mains came, requested another glass of wine.

We finished our food and waited, I would say overall about 30 minutes, while the staff attentively focused on the tables next to us with bigger parties, and completely ignored us.

No second glass of wine was to be seen.

We finally grabbed someone and got the bill, because at this point I did not want to pay them for anything else, which SOMEHOW came to 49.50 euros 🤣

Honestly, never experienced service like it.

Ich kann das Restaurant voll weiterempfehlen. Eine sehr gute Wahl, sowohl wenn man Pizza als auch andere Gerichte essen möchte. Als Vorspeise hatten wir Bruschetta (4 Stück), gut und geschmacklich ganz klassisch. Meine Frau hatte dann eine Pizza, die sehr gut und recht groß war (durfte die Reste essen). Sie kam natürlich aus dem Holzofen und es gab hieran nichts zu verbessern. Eine der besten bisher. Ich hatte erst Ravioli mit Käse und Pfeffer und gerösteten Speckkrümeln darüber. So lecker habe ich die noch nie gegessen. Dann hatte ich sehr zarte Doradenfilets mit Kartoffeln (irgendwo zwischen Rösti und Gratin). Ebenfalls sehr gut. Die Portionen sind nicht riesig, aber so schafft man wenigstens mehrere Gänge. Ich habe selten so gut gegessen. Einfach hochklassig. Es gibt eine sehr, sehr umfangreiche Weinkarte. Einen offenen Wein konnte ich auf der Karte nicht entdecken, aber mir war an dem Abend sowieso eher nach Bier. Bier gibt es entweder vom Fass, als normales Flaschenbier oder als Craftbier. An der Bedienung gab es nichts auszusetzen. Es gab reichlich Kellnerinnen und Kellner, die sich gut gekümmert haben. Verständigung auf Englisch war kein Problem. Das Restaurant hat eine sehr große, wunderschöne Außenterrasse mit ca. 200-250 Plätzen, die mitten in einem kleinen Wald gelegen ist. Man sitzt hier sehr schön. Es kommen sehr viele Einheimische. Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb von Avola. Es gibt reichlich kostenlose Parkplätze, die Samstagabend dann aber doch irgendwann voll sind. Bezahlt haben wir ca. 60 Euro, für das Gebotene ein...

For the last 7-8 years, Sicily has been our family's favourite destination for the summer holidays. We discovered this restaurant on our most recent trip here and were impressed by the lovely and lively atmosphere. Service, food and wine were great, but the highlight of our dinner was the pizza.
