L'Olivastro Bar — Restaurant in Baunei

Overall, it is a good bar. They have pizza, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, beer, champagne, and some hot and cold dishes. The kitchen is open until 3 pm then closes and reopens at 7 pm. They work until midnight or 1 am. The toilet is clean. It has soap and toilet paper. I have been several times at this bar. Ones in the evening, I tried the food and it was quite good. I ate eggplant with cheese and bread and drunk some drinks. I liked the service and the atmosphere. Another time I came to eat breakfast and unfortunately they don’t serve any hot breakfasts. They only proposed me a croissant for my coffee or a cold salad. While I was talking to a waitress and asked her about more options for a breakfast she told me that she is busy and has to go and serve someone else. I personally think it was quite rude to tell me that and left me without finalizing my order. After that I didn’t order any food, I drunk my coffee and left to eat to another place. A third time, I came in the evening since I needed a Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi was working for about 5 minutes after I ordered black tea, then stopped working and stopped appearing among the list of wi-fi on my phone or computer, even though I came specifically to use the internet. We have been for long enchanted with the place, really amazing but if the atmosphere and staff are not on the same wavelength as the beauty of the place, then the charm is gone. There was only one table occupied on the upper terrace and the staff refused to accommodate us there - 2 people only for a round of drinks - when the lower terrace was very busy. They immediately asked if we have to eat or "just" drink, although it was 9. 30 pm - we already had had dinner, and they reacted like "solo bere?eeeh, non so, (with an annoyed grimace) Allora, qua giù" - although bringing food to the upper terrace would logically be more of a hassle and the people who were up there were just drinking, they were served when we arrived.

We were seated near the kitchen - both of us are speakers of both Italian and Sardinian (one is native) so we enjoyed the "colourful" chats and curses among cooks but felt unwelcome by the whole situation -unwelcoming staff, people were too close, it was too busy on the lower terrace, lots of room on the upper one - atmosphere ruined - the people make the difference, even if you have a gorgeous background. Something changed in the past years and it's a pity - used to be different. We would gladly go back if they revised their attitude towards customers, it used to be a friendly and warm welcoming...

A malincuore devo segnalare un esperienza molto negativa vissuta in questo locale. Arriviamo in gruppo alle ore 16 chiedendo se oltre da bere fosse possibile mangiare qualcosa. La risposta che ci viene data è "a quest'ora non è possibile in quanto il servizio della cucina incomincia solo alle 18". Va benissimo, presa coscienza di questo ordiniamo solo da bere e chiediamo se fosse possibile avere almeno il loro solito piattino con dei crostini di molliche di pane e la salsa, (che vorrei sottolineare avevamo visto già pronti al bancone al nostro arrivo), ma ci viene rimarcato che neanche quelli erano disponibili in quanto il forno era spento fino alle 18. Ricordate bene questo orario che viene rimarcato più volte anche a noi. Quindi prendiamo da bere e chiediamo 2 pacchetti di guttiau in busta e uno di patatine. Circa 40 minuti dopo la nostra consumazione arrivano altri tavoli e mentre andavamo via ci rendiamo conto che con il loro ordinde arriva anche una pizza e che ad un altro tavolo era stato servito del pane. Abbiamo richiesto a che ora aprisse la cucina e ci e stato risposto spudoratamente nuovamente le 18 e allora a quel punto abbiamo fatto notare che alle altre persone era stato reso diaponibile del cibo nonostante fossero le 17.15. Probabilmente una volta arrivati piu tavoli hanno capito che era il caso di servire qualcosa (ma senza proporla anche a noi) oppure era un tavolo di persone che conoscevano con cui hanno fatto "figli e figliastri", non lo sapremo mai. Fatto sta che ci hanno palesemente perculato cercando di inventare scuse e sono stati veramente poco professionali ed inoltre il cameriere è stato veramente maleducato con il ragazzo del nostro gruppo che ha fatto presente la disparità di servizio (un vero diservizio direi) e una mancanza di peofessionalità. P.s. anche i pacchetti di patatine non ci sono arrivati e siamo dovuti andare a prenderle noi notando che non erano stati neanche segnati. Eravamo due tavoli al momento e il secondo aveva finito di consumare. Questo messaggio voglio che serva ai gestori del locale come monito e consiglio per una prossima esperienza simile con i clienti, consiglio di migliorare l'interazione con il cliente e soprattutto non rendere cosi evidente una disparità...
