The view is amazing and the food is pretty good as well, but not great. Sadly, the experience was ruined a bit by one of the staff (or maybe the owner?).
I had booked a table for lunch and asked specifically for the table with the best view. So when we arrived I was happy when the waiter showed us to our table and it had a great view.
However, after about half an hour when we already had our drinks and the food was coming, some aggressive older lady came over to our table. I'm not sure if she was the owner or who it was, but it wasn't one of the waiters. The waiters were very friendly, so I'm guessing she might have been the owner.
She started loudly and aggressively asking me if I was a certain person with a reservation and the name she was saying sounded like when Italians try to pronounce my name. I was quite confused and told her that I think it was me since it sounded like my name and I had indeed made a reservation asking for the table with the best view.
Then she started very loudly saying "this is not your table, you must move", speaking so loud that the entire restaurant turned to see what was going on and acting as if it was all my fault and as if I had just walked in and taken the table myself, when of course it was the staff who told us that this was our table.
I was still confused and tried very calmly to tell her that I had a reservation and I think that she was saying my name and I tried to show her my reservation when suddenly she said loudly "fine, you stay, I will move the other table" and just walked away. No apology or anything.
I still don't know what happened, if they double booked a table or if she was just confused, but either way it was definitely not our fault and the fact that she just came over and started yelling at a customer like that, blaming me for their mistake, is so incredibly unprofessional.
If they did double book the table and it was an option to move the other people who apparently arrived long after us then why didn't she just do that to begin with instead of coming and talking to me like that? Or at the very least she could have come over nicely and apologized for their mistake instead of acting like that.
So even though the view is great and the food is ok I just can't justify giving more than one star based on this incredibly poor service and...
Read moreI discovered this place by accident whilst looking for somewhere to turn the car! I was so blown away by the view that I decided to arrange for my family and friends to go there for Saturday lunch. Everyone was astounded by the setting and the views. This was compounded into a fantastic and memorable experience (described by several as the highlight of our trip) by food that was exquisite, excellent service and great wine, amaretto and limoncello (the grappa was interestingly challenging!) to accompany the coffee, to conclude. I would love to keep this as a secret, as I know most people who go to Bellagio do not know about this lovely restaurant given it is 500 meters up the hillside and a bit outside the town. However, in the spirit of openness, I would recommend you accept the taxi cost to get you there and go and have a memorable experience. Book in advance! Well...
Read moreIt's just OK as a restaurant but dining on the terrace with the view was great.
The food was nothing special taste wise but was presented very well. Where is this amazing Pasta I heard about in Italy? Not here... I got what seemed like mushy egg noodles with a Wild Boar Ragu that was bitter and tasted off putting with an aftertaste. Tolerable but not good. No-one else in my party was eating with much enthusiasm either.
Service was stuffy and seemed cold like they were acting more sophisticated they need to be. It just didn't work... as you approach the place seems warm, inviting and friendly, almost cozy but the servers were acting as if we where at the Ritz Carlton. There was a friendly dog roaming around too... so the rigid wait staff seemed out of place.
Go here for the view and memorable drive up the hill. Other than that no reason for...
