We’ve been to this bar many times before and always enjoyed the atmosphere. On previous visits, we occasionally played a quiet card game at our table – and the owner, an older man, never said a word.

This time, however, he suddenly asked us to leave, even though we were playing silently, not disturbing anyone, and clearly not gambling. There is no rule or law against this, and we hadn’t asked because it was never a problem before.

The waitress was very kind and professional – thank you to her. But the owner’s attitude was unwelcoming and seemed personal. It felt like he simply wanted us out, without reason.

The rating is not entirely correct, because the service from a young lady was excellent. My friends and I wanted to play cards. After a long time, the extremely unsympathetic boss came and lied to us that playing cards was illegal in Italy. I then proved to him that money-free gambling is perfectly legal in Italy. He replied that he made the rules here, that this was his bar. We also consumed a lot. So that didn‘t explain his behaviour.

I hope you reconsider your choice to go there. Since this is not the way how one treats...

We’ve been loyal customers at Caffè del Rose in Bonassola for many years, but unfortunately, our recent experience was deeply disappointing. Despite behaving respectfully and ordering a lot, the owner abruptly told us we were not allowed to play cards. This made us feel very unwelcome.

On a positive note, the lady working in the service is extremely friendly and does an excellent job. she’s the reason we kept coming back for so long. It’s a shame that the owner’s behavior has overshadowed the otherwise...
