Ristorante Shardana — Restaurant in Budune/Budoni

Disappointing. Too costly for what you get.

The following is just an opinion, take it or not.

My family has been eating in this restaurant almost 10 years now. I myself went about 4-5 times in the last 6 years during summer. Last time was yesterday.

It used to be a quite nice restaurant with an okay value for what you get. Today I find that the food is not bad but not great, well above what you would expect to pay.

The atmosphere is… not very relaxing. Waiters are speeding around but it comes down to where you are seated. If you have the opportunity of being close to the pine wood then maybe it is less busy.

When we arrived asking for a table without reservation, we were asked if we wanted pizza or « kitchen food », and were vividly suggested to go and sit at the snack corner if we wanted pizza ??? We didn’t want any pizza and insisted to go to the « kitchen food side ». They were kind enough to give us a table for two (and by the way, gave us two menus were they had removed pizzas). It is understandable that without any reservation we cannot expect a table, however it is not acceptable to suggest eating on the « not fancy side » because pizza doesn’t meat their « cost requirements » and modify a menu to force a customer to pay enough. What if only one person wants a pizza ??? This type of policy for a mid-restaurant seems out of place.

All restaurants have their rules and it is understandable. The point is this place has evolved in a « trying to be fancy » restaurant and unfortunately the food is not that great to pretend to the status.

Risposta al proprietario che ha commentato, ovviamente con tono sarcastico. Le critiche non servono a far indispettire, ma servono a prendere atto ed a migliorarsi. Se non si ha l'umiltà di accettarle bisogna un po' rivedere il proprio operato. E tra l'altro, per onore di cronaca ho inserito anche lo scontrino dove c'è la dicitura "bar", visto che si meraviglia della dicitura "baretto" che ho utilizzato in recensione. Comunque:

Location: Shardana sorge nella Pineta di Sant'Anna, che a prima vista è molto gradevole. Una volta però seduti al tavolo ci si rende conto che il ristorante ha le sembianze di un baretto sulla spiaggia, camuffato da "locale in". Tavoli di plastica, sedie di plastica, non basta una mis en place da ristorante ed una candela per aggraziare il tutto, si può fare decisamente meglio perché le potenzialità ci sono.

Menu: Viste le recensioni ultra positive avevamo molta aspettativa. Che dire, i due primi che ci sono arrivati erano molto buoni e particolari, specialmente i tagliolini al nero di seppia, invece la fregola, seppur buona, peccava un po' di sapidità. Porzioni ahimè però un po' povere per una spesa di 20 euro a piatto. I secondi offerti dal menu, a parte il tonno, non rispecchiavano i nostri palati, abbiamo però scelto per provare il pescato del giorno, che consisteva nel branzino. La freschezza e la qualità del pesce non si discute, ma se fai pagare 25 euro un secondo, uno si aspetta sia un impiattamento che qualcosa di più particolare dal piatto, si va al ristorante anche per non mangiare come si mangia a casa. Nel complesso quindi il menu è soddisfacente solo in parte, più cura per i primi (le foto allegate sono a dimostrazione), quasi assente per i secondi.

Servizio: Nota molto dolente di questa cena. Premettendo che si è a conoscenza del fatto che il ristorante lavora su due turni, uno delle 8 ed uno delle 9e30, io reputo al quanto assurdo rendere la cena di due persone che vogliono mangiare tranquillamente, una vera e propria corsa. Il primo arrivato dopo pochissimo, cosa molto gradevole. La pecca è che se uno ha ancora il boccone in bocca è assurdo passare a togliere il piatto senza il permesso. Magari uno vuole dedicarsi con calma alle salse, farsi la sacrosanta scarpetta. Ed invece no, con un pressing estenuante i camerieri appena mollato la forchetta passano a prenderti il piatto. Un vero controsenso se poi finito il secondo passano ben 20 minuti prima che qualcuno chieda se si desidera un dolce o un caffè. La sensazione che si ha nel mangiare, non è di relax, ma si vera e propria pressione (immotivata). In più su varie cose ha lasciato a desiderare ovvero le numerose volte che vari camerieri hanno portato al tavolo piatti di altri tavoli per errore, ed il fatto che se si ordina un vino, è segno di accortezza se lo si fa arrivare insieme al cibo e non prima, altrimenti si riscalda. Tirando le somme, il servizio è una cosa importante, se vuoi fare il ristorante alla moda e farti pagare, devi anche garantire degli standard proporzionati, non da circolo o osteria, che viaggia su altri canoni.

Conto: ultimo, ma non per importanza, se in due persone, una sera d'estate, in una frazione del comune di Budoni (e non è la rinomata frazione di Porto Ottiolu, che consiglio per una cena pari a questa, ma decisamente migliore) per due primi, un secondo, un contorno e due caffè fai pagare la bellezza di 85 euro, beh qualcosa non va. Totalmente non congruo, al cibo, alla location ed al servizio. Va bene che in Sardegna purtroppo si cerca di spremere un po' il turista, ma così credo sia un...

Great family restaurant. The location is in some woods right on the beach so the kids could run around. This meant that the adults in the party could sample the set menus (about 7 courses) while the kids had 4 delicious pizzas. Started with a great sparkling rose wine. Tasting menu had highlights of truffle pasta, tomato gnocchi, tuna tartar. There was a few too many additions to plates in places that did not have enough flavour or add to the dish in my view, but this is a minor point. The tasting menu was delivered quite fast, which worked for us with the kids but on a few occasions we hardly had time for a sip of wine between delivery. That said, I'm sure they would have slowed if we had asked and the service was absolutely impeccable.... the waiters moved around with speed and everything was prompt. They were busy so do book.
