we were recommended this place by our hostel owner and it did not disappoint. we didn’t look over the menu for everything vegan but just asked the owner and chef Romeo for his recommendations and trusted his judgement after telling us we were vegan. he did not disappoint. we had grilled zucchini with pistachio sauce and the most incredible mushroom antipasti. i’d have to say that it was probably some of THE best oysters mushrooms i’ve ever had (sorry millennium!) then the pizzas came out. omg. so much food! crust is perfectly baked and excellent, toppings plentiful and fresh. the wheat they use for the dough is a heritage grain! plus they have their own in house wine (which was so good), olive oil, amaretto, and spirits! Sono stata in questo locale venerdì 25 luglio, consigliata da un referente della Magnia via Francigena che stavamo percorrendo in quei giorni. Io e mio marito siamo stati sorpresi dall'accoglienza e la disponibilità del gestore Romeo, ci ha aperto la cucina prima dell'orario stabilito per agevolare i nostri orari. Ci ha preparato delle meravigliose pietanze preparate al momento e di ottima qualità. Ci ha pure portato degli assaggi perché non potevamo andar via senza aver provato la sua deliziosa "caponata" rivisitata da lui.... un sublime piatto che mi viene l'acquolina a pensarlo! Meraviglioso! Dopo una lunga e fredda giornata di cammino cenare al South è stata una sorpresa, anzi uno stupore che ti ripaga di qualsiasi fatica. Semplice ma bel locale, il calore del termosifone e del fuoco della stufa, una accoglienza garbata ed un servizio di gran professionalità.
