Giorgi Wines — Restaurant in Canneto Pavese

We just got back from an aperitivo, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. We've been there before and had better impressions in the past, but this time it was definitely not worth it. It all felt disorganized and lacked the finesse that used to set Giorgi apart. We ordered an aperitivo for four people, with one bottle of wine and two small bottles of sparkling water for the children. To our surprise, the total bill came to 80 euros. Even more surprising was that the lady at the register gave us a receipt with just a single line item listed“wine. Prices may have increased but the overall experience simply does not justify the cost. The outdoor tables were in poor condition, and the service was not up to standard. A young server had to come out several separate times: first with cutlery, then glasses, then the wine, then again with an ice bucket, and finally with the food which was a tray with some salame, coppa, mortadella and pancetta plus a tray with focaccia. Later we asked for more coppa and they kindly brought more. It all felt disorganized and lacked the finesse that used to set Giorgi apart. What’s more, when we went inside to pay, a man (possibly staff) remarked to the lady at the cash register that we hadn't paid yet, while we were literally at the counter to do just that. The woman at the register was also quite rude, which left us with a very negative final impression.

All in all, the 80 euros we spent did not reflect the quality of the setting, service, or food. There’s been a clear decline in attention to detail, and the warm atmosphere we once appreciated is now gone. Sadly, I will not be returning and I wouldn’t recommend it to...

Pfff what happened? It used to be a very pleasant place to just pop in, taste some excellent wines and engage in wine conversation with the very knowledgeable staff. Now you are probably better off to drive to the local supermarket and buy the wine there. The staff is equally bored and the wine is even cheaper. Please get your act...

Abbiamo chiesto delle bottiglie da comprare e da poter regalare…non volevano farci un pacco regalo, a loro dire non avevano nessuna confezione all’interno dell’enoteca., abbiam dovuto trovare noi una confezione mentre la signora che in modo davvero antipatico e maleducato non voleva considerarci e brontolava vistosamente. Solo l’intervento di una ragazza più giovane ha salvato la situazione. Sinceramente, abbiam preso il vino solo per motivi di tempo, saremmo andati volentieri via senza comperar nulla…. Purtroppo dubito che torneremo in questo posto, mi ritrovo molto con una recensione precedente dove qualcuno diceva che si è sentito di troppo...
