We visited this restaurant yesterday evening as a special occasion for Father's Day. We were 2 adults with 2 children 7 and 8 years. It was busy. We waited for a table. We ordered food and drinks. All evening our food and drinks were brought to the next table. We explained this to the waitress who said normally our tables are a big table for 8 people but they had split it for both families. We joked with the families at the next table that our bills would probably get mixed up. Again all evening everything continued brought to the wrong tables. We ordered fries that we never got. We ordered a coffee that we almost gave up on. It eventually did arrive. We asked for our bill and we were careful to check it due to the mix-up all evening. The waitress asked if we were happy with the bill. We were. We tapped our card and paid €98.40 My husband had left the restaurant with one of the children while I picked up our belongings. The same waitress then said no no this is the bill. This bill was €71 My Son ran after my husband and told him to come back. My husband then paid the €71 I said no we now have paid two bills? The waitress then said I need you to pay €98.40 again. We asked to speak to someone who could sort this out. A waitress with glasses and dark hair arrived. We explained everything that happened all everything. She kept shouting you must pay. Now our children are crying and everyone is looking at us. The waitress with the glasses who was extremely aggressive and rude then insisted that this was not the waitress who served us but it was her sister!!! This waitress has not left the table at any point. It was becoming ridiculous. A younger waitress with good English apologised and said she was sorry that now the other two waitresses were fighting with each other. We were then asked if could we show them our bank account on our phone!! We refused. We said we would leave our numbers and our accommodation details. We would come back in the morning when our bank account had updated and we could see what we were charged. The waitress with the glasses said no. I want something to belong to you. My husband said no we would be back in the morning he was extremely annoyed and our kids were very upset and crying. The waitress kept shouting in Italy you do not leave a restaurant without paying. At this point, I am upset and crying. We left the restaurant. The next morning we checked our bank account. We were charged €71 then refunded €71 We were not charged the correct bill which was €98 my husband returned. He was met by the lady with the glasses who said are you here to pay your bill. He asked to speak to a manager. She said she was in charge and when in Italy, you do not leave a restaurant without paying. She would not apologise for how my family were treated...How upset my children were for ruining our celebration. Again she would not listen or show any customer service. She told my husband to get out of the restaurant and never return. We wanted to pay for our meal and just be charged correctly. We are from Ireland. This is not how we treat people who come to our restaurants or how we behave in front of small children. This has made bad memories for our family in a place that was a very special holiday destination for us. Shame on the awful rude service in such a...
Read moreCan't advice on a food but staff behaviour is enough for me don't even have to try the food. I appreciate it was quite busy today (2.06.22) about 3pm, we could see many customers inside and 2 or 3 groups in front of us but quickly got to the front staff, asked a woman what is the waiting time for the table she said 15mins so asked her what's the waiting time for the food as we could only sit and wait for about 30mins so didn't want to sit without knowing beforehand but she instantly had a attitude with me and said she doesn't know. First of all she should know, she's at the entrance she should communicate with servers and the kitchen, second of all don't pull faces to other person when a potential costumer asks you normal question and is polite with you. 10mins later we've been sitting at Ristorante Sporting next to the mini golf and had absolutely tasty food, didn't paid alot and every single member of staff who served us (3) was...
Read moreWe walked for almost an hour along the seafront with our 1.5-year-old child just to have dinner here, only to realize that dogs are not allowed inside. I politely asked the waitress (whose English was very poor) if we could sit at one of the outside tables while keeping our dog completely outside the restaurant area. She didn’t even consider it — the only thing she kept repeating was “this is the rules.” They completely ignored the fact that we had a small child with us and simply sent us away.
To make it even more absurd: right next to the “no dogs” sign, they also have a sign that says no swimwear allowed. Yet several tables were filled with half-naked English men in swim shorts. So much for your “rules.”
It’s 2025 — there is absolutely no reasonable explanation why a dog cannot sit under an outdoor table. And if you’re going to work in hospitality, at the very least, learn...
