Il GIARDINETTO da Giando — Restaurant in Capannori

We went to Il Giardinetto today 18h40 and had a nice spot in the garden. We ordered an Aperol Spritz which tasted and looked bland. The appetizers were okay expect the bruschetta, they were very hard and though definetly from the day before as I could not cut them with a sharp knive. My wife had a spaghetti vongole which was very nice, I had Cordelli al ragu, the ragu tasted very bland and was not seasoned at all. The main course being a tagliatta grilled was not grilled at all and the French fries, you cannot find them any dryer than here. When we were done multiple groups of Italians came to eat and it was so clear that even the bread they got was fresh while ours was form the day before. This was an exceptional disappointing...

In general it is good. But the 'filet' is too expensive compared to size and quality. The grill mark showed it was baked on one side only. And therefore to ' gray' / well done, not evenly baked.

Enjoyed our meals and service but got a shock when paying. Our party of 5 adults and 2 children (18 month old and 3 yr old) we got charged 7euro a head extra to meals etc as a service charge. It was unexpected and felt that charging a service fee for the small children was excessive. So all up an extra 49 euro in unexpected service charges, there was no warning of this charge.
