La casa dei Mulinari — Restaurant in Capena

I came here with my family without knowing what I was gonna eat for dinner, but as soon as we walked in we knew we had to try their meat selection. We started with a shared plate of cold meats and cheeses along side with 'trippa alla romana' . Then me and my brother split a Costata which was about 1.2kg and my parents took one 'tagliata di manzo' and one 'grigliata mista'. We had a side of 'cicoria ripassata' and oven roasted potatoes which were alright nothing special. But the meat was rich in flavour and cooked perfectly. I also had to try the 'fegatelli' from my father because he does not like them, I do not know why because they were amazing. We finished the dinner with a tiramisù and 'visciole and ricotta crostata'. Very well balanced desserts. The cherry on the top is the hospitality of the owner who is gentle and very friendly. The waiter came to us and just said that he give us a antipasti for the start. No Menu. Nothing. Couldnt disagree. Obviously we became the expeniest one which we did not want because we wanted a menu which has antipasto included. The antipasto though was good also was the pizza we ate because we didnt want the menu anymore. The aqua natural is obviously from the sink you can see it because of the chalk at the bottle... The good thing is you get a free shot at the end. The waiter or the chef i dont know what he was, was friendly but we waited quite...

Pranzo con i colleghi, ho proposto questo ristorante, siamo arrivati da Roma in dieci e tutti sono stati entusiasti della scelta. Che dire dei Mulinari... procediamo: Ho prenotato per tempo, e consiglio di farlo perché non è facile trovare posto per dieci persone all'ultimo momento; è un posto molto frequentato e a buon diritto! Servizio: proprietari e personale molto alla mano, ma al contempo molto professionali, e di grande disponibilità! Abbiamo scelto di saltare i primi perché la nostra idea era di mangiare solo un piccolo antipasto e la carne alla griglia, quindi via con una discreta scelta di antipasti e formaggi, oltre alle solite bruschette, fagioli con cotiche, trippa e coratella (già un pò meno "solite), tutto buonissimo. Dopo una giusta attesa ecco arrivare la carne... un trionfo di "ciccia" che farebbe eccitare anche un toscano DOC!!! Cottura perfetta, marinate stupende (a tal proposito consiglio il pollo) e tantissima scelta tra Fiorentine, pollo, maialino, asado, salsicce e mi pare ci fosse altro. ... ed in fine qualche collega più coraggioso, tra i quali il sottoscritto, ha avuto l'ardire di chiedere un assaggio dei primi visti passare copiosi fino a quel momento, e ci viene accordata una fiamminga di ravioli, stupendi anche quelli!!! Poi arriva il conto... antipasto, secondo, contorno, vino, acqua, dolci, caffè, amari:un conto DAVVERO ONESTO! Grazie Mulinari, torneremo...
