Ristorante da Pilade — Restaurant in Capoliveri

Food quality and environment are average compared to other restaurants in Elba. But I have to say the price is higher than average. A small portion of baked potatoes,which is not included with a piece of steak, costs EUR 6. A small portion of salad costs also EUR 6, which is comparable to the salad in a folk restaurant in Switzerland. We visited the restaurant with our little one, who basically only used a high chair without requesting any tableware. Still we had to pay EUR 3 for his seat, the same to all others who actually used tableware. Alright, we respected this may be the ''Italian tradition''. What really upset us was the honesty or/and the counting capability of the staff (or the owner? ). Firstly, they charged us 7 pieces of table service fees, while we were only 4 persons including the 1.5 years old. Moreover, we only ordered a bottle of water, while they charged us two bottles. After I corrected him, he wrote on the receipt EUR 85, although he definitely knew one bottle of water costs EUR 3.5. 88 - 3.5 = 85? Pay your attention to the bill and their honesty when you visit...

Make sure you get what you ordered – and check your bill carefully! We paid €257 instead of the expected €138 – nearly double (for only 3 people). Three of us ordered the Classico at €5.00 per 100 grams – the most affordable of the three options, and we clearly communicated this to the staff. We even pointed to it on the menu, and the staff member repeated “Classico” back to us. The service was friendly and the food was of good quality, but when the bill arrived, we were shocked to find we had been served – and charged for – the most expensive Premium option at €9.50 per 100 grams instead. We were also told the portion would be around 1.2 kg for three people, but it ended up being 2.2 kg!

The restaurant is average, way better and more beautiful restaurants up in Capoliveri!

Very disappointing experience. Not worth repeating, and certainly not...

Da frequentatore e conoscitore dell'isola, mi mancava all'appello questo ristorante, situato lungo la strada che porta a Capoliveri. LOCATION: hotel con ampio parcheggio, e sala ampia, arredata in stile un pò anni 80. Possibilità di cenare all'aperto, in veranda. MENÚ: molto vario, che spazia dalla carne al pesce, con ampia scelta, con alcune specialità toscane (es. Pici all'aglione). Sezione dedicata per la carne e pesce alla brace. Tra le carni non compare il classico Filetto, ma solo 3 varianti di tagliata d'angus e la classica Fiorentina. Nota positiva da elogiare, è la possibilità di abbinare il loro olio, con diverse varianti/cultivar. Ampia la carta dei vini, tra cui i Supertuscan, ma con prezzi in generale sopra la media. Nota dolente, il prezzo dei calici non è esposto ma dichiarano un prezzo che va dai € 5 ai € 20. Il mio consiglio è di indicarlo in menù, accanto alle bottiglie, oppure fare una lista giornaliera con i vini al calice, cosi da non mettere in difficoltà il cliente nella scelta, perchè in questo modo ti dirottano nell'acquisto di bottiglie da 375cl. PREZZO: seppur la qualità sia presente e tangibile, con prodotti di ottina qualità, ritengo che i prezzi siano abbondantemente sopra la media, tenuto conto anche della quantità servita e l'impiattamento. Punta di forza la Fiorentina, ma prezzi abbondantemente sopra la media, rispetto al Continente. A quel prezzo si acquistano altre tipologie di carni, più pregiate.

Nel complesso, si cena piacevolmente, ma da migliorare con il servizio, che talvolta lascia a desiderare. Alla mia richiesta se il tiramisù è fatto con i savoiardi, mi è stato detto di no (fatto con i savoiardi, più leggero), che lo posso mangiare in un altro ristorante. Va bene tutto, ma certe risposte non sono accettabili, cosi come il tiramisù è tiramisu...altrimenti facciamo la margherita con l'asiago anxichè mozzarella! Se il tiramisù non è classico, consiglio di indicarlo in menù, perchè si vende altro cosi. Finchè devi ordinare nelle varie portate, sono veloci e pronti, ma x ordinare un caffè/amaro ho dovuto aspettare più di mezz'ora, che alla fine non l'ho preso, mi son alzato x andare a pagare, dato che non sono stato considerato minimamente, mentre gente del posto veniva "coccolata" da 3 camerieri, nemmeno fosse un vip. Aldilà di tutto, è un ristorante che consiglio per cene allargate, dove puoi condividere le pietanze ed il conto. Meno...
