Bluemare — Restaurant in Caronia

I’m a long time client of this place before it switched to new management. The setting is charming. Unfortunately the new owners are very attached to money and don’t care about serving decent food. It’s wildly overpriced for the quality. We were a party of 8 adults and paid €40 a person for 4 antipasti and 8 entrees. Two of the pasta plates were so salty we had to send them back. They still tried charging us for them. When we pointed it out they removed them from the bill but also removed the usual “rounding” discount we they normally apply. I loved all of their dishes! Especially their linguine alla cozze is amazing (linguine with mussels). Also the best pistacchio icecream. In the evening, this restaurant transforms into a bar: people are coming together for some drinks and play with Sicilian cards. I had a drink all by myself one night and the owner (which is really cute by the way) gave the best hospitality by offering me a place close to the sea where I could hear the sound of the waves clashing against the rocks while looking at the stars. Bar situated in a very nice location, in front of the sea! Sea food is great and fresh everyday ! The owner and the staff are very professional and welcoming.
