Il Comitato — Restaurant in Castellaneta

We stumbled upon Il Comitato quite by chance on our way to Matera, and it turned out to be one of the great surprises of our trip. The owner welcomed us with warmth that we immediately felt at good.

We started with a beautifully prepared Angus beef carpaccio and for the main courses, the two pasta dishes and risotto were outstanding: perfectly cooked and great flavor and ingredients.

We really enjoyed our evening at Il Comitato. On the one hand the food was very tasty and fresh. We chose from a very creatively put together menue of italian dishes which the owner helped us to navigate through. On the other hand the whole atmosphere was very special because of the modern interior concept which, combined with the friendly service, felt very cozy. We also really enjoyed our conversation with the owners and the tasty liquor we were askes to try in the end. A truly inspiring...

Very nice place in the city center. Seems newly stablished we went in with the idea of having a drink and snack on something but realized they had also warm dishes and were positively surprised by the quality . We had octopus, tuna accompanied with drinks water and coffee and paid 45€ .
